Just let us do our pointless posting and don't worry about it. It's late at night and we are just playing around with each other. None of us truly cares about our 800+ position on big boards and if you really think we do you're sadly mistaken. If the posts aren't as witty and quality as you'd like that's not our problem is it? We're connecting from california to New York to London and that's enough. it doesn't have to be a full page novel of crafty remarks and well placed and superbly chosen smileys. Sometimes one word is enough to interact. We're not posting for the numbers as you would think and have alerted others of this activity. You are not an enemy to me that's for sure and to no one else that i am aware of but we may rub one another in the wrong way from time to time and thats unavoidable. You're right in that I don't speak for everybody, but your posts about this thread came immediatley after our posts and seemed to be pointing the finger at the 3 of us. I'm glad to hear you were just playing because it seemed like the mindless mini posts and the numbers/stats thing was truly bothering you. I felt the little "digs" were aimed at us since you asked where the postwhores were and were they guests or hidden which came off somewhat insultive, as if your remarks on this thread were causing posters to flee. Sister Morphine, Philip, and, myself and whistledog were the only ones posting on here prior to your comments so it seemed they were directed at our activity.
You've got a style and do put a good effort into your own posts and too bad sometimes you may get frustrated by lack of response or the followup post being a minor insignificant post, thus drawing attention away from yours. I think people still read and reply to yours and with over 4400 members, there's no way people can hold off on posting because the previous one was so dynamic and good. "I'm not being sarcastic". You've connected with people with your style and that is cool and so have I with mine. You are correct in that we will not please everyone, and we'll end up dissapointing people along the way, but I'm for the live and let live philosophy so you get back to cracking jokes and I'll get back to whatever it is that I do. I do feel somewhat frustrated when I post something I think is really clever / amusing whatever, then somebody posts our current rankings immediately afterwards as though that's so much more exciting ... of Earth shattering importance. It breaks the momentum, and it's like they're saying, I didn't think that was funny / worth a comment ...
i think if a post gets ignored, there's usually a good reason for it. whining that people aren't responding isn't going to help. it's like going, "hey, c'mon! my joke is funny! laugh! laugh!"

if people aren't laughing/responding, it's usually because there isnt anything worth laughing at/responding to. and i mean that comment in general, because i've seen more than one person go, oh, you people should be responding to me, or, i hate it when my posts get lost in the shuffle, or what have you. and to me that sort of thing seems really futile. post something worth responding to, and people will respond!
