The cause of the accident is still undetermined. Eye witness reports suggest a sudden and total loss of engine power. One of the possibilities that has been suggested is that the plane had run out of fuel, but it could just as well be something else that we don't know of at this point.
The black boxes have been recovered and are under investigation.

Nine dead have been confirmed. The dead include the two pilots of the plane.

This could be the main suspected reason, as the aircraft didn't burst into flame upon impact (and it must have been some impact, breaking into three like that...)

Kudos to the Dutch emergency services for getting everything under control with great efficiency...

All in all, I ended up watching three episodes of Morse yesterday and the last one view was "Absolute Conviction" which starred Richard Wilson.

A friend of mine got me started on it last season when we discovered Maksim (sp?) OMG, he is worth watching the whole show for!  Now there's another hot guy, Gilles (sp?), he's a model/actor from Sex & the City. He is also worth watching the show for! Oh! There's dancing too!

The 2nd half of "High School Reunion" on TV Land late last night.

Animal Planet had a very informative show about what makes sharks attack.  They studied Reef sharks, Lemon sharks, Great Whites, Tigers and Hammerheads.  They will more likely attack a person wearing the color yellow, as opposed to black or red, which was surprising. They put dummies wearing these colors in a shark cage and observed.... **throws away yellow wetsuit** They prefer animal blood to human blood and only go for it if nothing else is available, they were not interested in turkeys or hams, but ate beef ribs.  It seemed the Lemon sharks were the most aggressive of the types observed.  Good things to know if you scuba or plan to get lost at sea.... ;)
