PT and I sat on our back deck with a couple of friends and watched the light show in the sky.  Some amazing lightning flashing across the horizon.

Today is looking pretty clear at the moment (temp in the low 70's), but we are forecast for more rain.

The Weather Channel says that this storm will effect millions of people from the midwest to the northeast!
Here in Milwaukee, they also increased the totals to possibly a foot of snow in the counties by Lake Michigan. The snow is just to the west of us right now.

Was another nice day here in So-Cal, with temps in the 60s and 70s.

I used to think temps like that were cold, too, before I moved to Ohio.  Now 50 is a nice day. 
It's 16 here and snowing.

Last night it got down to -20  :o :o :o It now a balmy 0.  They are talking about snow-maybe that will warm things up a bit.

I sympathize with you, Mona. It's just that we get kinda spoiled out there sometimes....72 on day then it snows...then it goes back  up to 60 :D Ideally if everyday was 70 with a low no colder than 45. That would be nice :)

We didn't get as much snow as they predicted-only about 6 inches. But the wind is wicked out there. The windows keep rattling from the wind-and the temp is 0. (But the Sun is shinning.  :-\\)

I was talking to one of the mums at school yesterday.  I know about looking back with rose-tinted glasses but we both agreed that most winters would have had at least one snowfall here and it would last quite a while.  Only very occasionally was it serious enough to close schools or whatever.  Last January we had snow for a few days and this year we haven't had any yet.  I'm expecting some later this week though after how much America has had.

My eldest brother was born in January 63.  My mum recalls the car breaking down on the way to the hospital and trying to push start it!

I remember a lot of snow sometime in the early 80's because I was doing my evening paper round in it!  I also remember the heavy sudden snow fall we had in 1990.  'The wrong sort of snow' it was really sticky and bought down power lines under the weight of it.  We were without electricity for 3 or 4 days and some of the villages were out for 3 or 4 weeks.

Horrible!!! For the past 3 days we have had a terrible gray haze over the island from a volcano that erupted close by.  Today, the whole island smelled its worse yet.  My eyes have been bothering me and I have been getting bad headaches.  I miss our clean, (almost) pollution free air.  Then just the other day we were hit with a 6.3 earthquake.  After the Tsunami that hit Asia recently, there is great fear that one may hit us.  And to top it off it has been rainy so we have been having some wonderful Acid Rain.  Yippee!!!

Hot !  It topped 40 degrees celsius (104F) here today and it's now sitting at just a shade under 30 degrees....around the mid 80's fahrenheit.....at 9pm  :P

It is indeed, Paul.  It usually takes place a week or two after the SuperBowl, and it's always here in Hawaii.  Selected members of the different NFL teams come out here and they are placed on two teams... either the NFC or AFC... for a final game of the football season.  That's about all I really know about it.   :)
