Very hot! :P Yesterday I went to campus to do volunteer work, so I had another taste of the valley heat, with temps in the mid- to high 90s...this morning I read the weather page in the newspaper and found out that the temperature in Death Valley got up to 129 F! :o :o That has got to be a record for California (or even North America for that matter).

The thermometer hit 105 degrees at Denver International Airport Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The last time it got this hot in the city was way before air conditioning, back in August, 1878. The heat won't relent Thursday as high temperatures will once again soar above the century mark.
The record high for July 21 in Denver is 100 degrees set in 1981. Today is expected to trounce that record with a high of 103.
Wednesday's high temperature was recorded at 3:37 p.m. It broke the record temperature for July - 103 degrees - which was set on both July 8, 1989 and July 6, 1973.
When the mercury hit 105 degrees at DIA it was 106 degrees downtown.
United Airlines had to cancel four flights out of DIA because of the heat. Extreme heat can affect an aircraft's ability to take off. Each of those planes was small - about 30 passengers.
The rest of the state is also baking. Pueblo hit 106 degrees, surpassing the record high of 104 in 1998 and Colorado Springs broke the record set in 1998 of 100 by reaching 103. The hot weather is expected to stick around for several more days.
This is typically the hottest time of year in Colorado, before the days start getting shorter and monsoon season arrives.

It's pouring rain right now...which is good because it's been so dry and we've been having lots of brush fires lately.

See? And that's my whole point on the Summer/Winter thing. I HATE trying to warm up in Winter...it takes forever...but in the Summer heat I can just jump in the shower for a quick cool off :)

While the shower might help to cool you off, you will soon find that you're sweaty again. That's the feeling that I hate! :P

Normally I wouldn't care about the heat - the hotter- the better. But my PC has started doing this up and down whiny thing whenever it gets too hot. And when the humidity is high the swamp cooler does not function well, si I cannot get my office cooled off. I just have to turn the fan higher - that way at least I cannot hear the noise the PC is making.... ::(

I would imagine it's been prit-ty hot out there...I was in the Valley the other day at the CSUN campus (and I'm going back there tomorrow).

The SBC Building registerd that it was 103 degrees when i walked past it yesterday afternoon.

It cooled off right after we finished playing basketball for 3 hours! Now it's looking like rain. The high did reach 102 today though. It's down to 83 now....28 for all you celsius minded people ;)

The weather in San Diego is generally alright but early this year there has been a lots and lots of rain, as much as if you lived in Seattle. This summer, the temperature has been in the high 90's and even 100's in some locations.

9News Meterologist Kathy Sabine says cooler weather, and even heavy rain is possible on Sunday, bringing an end to several days of triple-digit heat.
Sabine says the monsoon flow is strong and covers the entire state. She expects afternoon storms are going to be slow movers, and for that reason, locally heavy rain may be possible. Highs today should be around 92 in both Colorado Springs and Denver.
The cooloff comes after another day of record-breaking heat in metro Denver. Saturday, the thermometer climbed to 102 degrees at 1:49 p.m. at Denver International Airport, breaking the last record set in 1910.
Friday afternoon, Denver broke the 74-year-old record of 100 for the date when the mercury hit 102 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures also reached 100 degrees in Colorado Springs, topping out at 101 at 12:30 pm and breaking the record of 99 which ocured in 1931.

Yesterday it rained ALL day, and it was a bit cloudy earlier, but now the sun's come out and it's lovely and warm 8)

I think I'm talking about the right thing. It said the Heat Index was what it FELT like outside.
It's the opposite of wind chill. Last Saturday while we played basketball it was 101 with a heat index of around 110....that is hot but our hunidity is usually always low...around 10% :)

I'm only about 70 miles west of you, Philip Eno- It's bright sunshine here, so it's likely to be headed your way...hopefully you won't get the strong smell of dung spread on local fields prevalent in this area currently....oooo arrr! ;D
