O0 Good list! My list would be somewhat similar:
1) The 1970s closely followed by ...
2) The 1960s
3) The 1980s
4) The late 1950s
--- BIG dropoff here ---
5) The 1990s
6) Anything before the mid-1950s
7) Anything later than 1999

Close to mine.
1. '70s (also VERY closely followed)
2. '60s
3. '80s
4. '50s
5. Before the '50s
Drop off
6. '90s
And everything else drops off. There MAY be one or two songs that I like but that is it.

1 - '70s
2 - '60s
3 - '50s
4 - These are more eras than decades but: Big Band/Swing, Ragtime and Classical.
That is all, for me Jan.1, 1980 is the day the music died.

Why listen to us anyway? Listen to the whole world:
Is Old Music Killing New Music?
Old songs now represent 70 percent of the U.S. music market. Even worse: The new-music market is actually shrinking.
www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2022/01/old-music-killing-new-music/621339/
Excerpts:
Old songs now represent 70 percent of the U.S. music market, according to the latest numbers from MRC Data, a music-analytics firm. Those who make a living from new music—especially that endangered species known as the working musician—should look at these figures with fear and trembling. But the news gets worse: The new-music market is actually shrinking. All the growth in the market is coming from old songs.
The 200 most popular new tracks now regularly account for less than 5 percent of total streams. That rate was twice as high just three years ago. The mix of songs actually purchased by consumers is even more tilted toward older music. The current list of most-downloaded tracks on iTunes is filled with the names of bands from the previous century, such as Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Police.
I encountered this phenomenon myself recently at a retail store, where the youngster at the cash register was singing along with Sting on “Message in a Bottle” (a hit from 1979) as it blasted on the radio. A few days earlier, I had a similar experience at a local diner, where the entire staff was under 30 but every song was more than 40 years old. I asked my server: “Why are you playing this old music?” She looked at me in surprise before answering: “Oh, I like these songs.”
Never before in history have new tracks attained hit status while generating so little cultural impact. In fact, the audience seems to be embracing the hits of decades past instead. Success was always short-lived in the music business, but now even new songs that become bona fide hits can pass unnoticed by much of the population.

1. 2010's
2. This decade so far
3. 2000's
4. 80's
Any other decade I don't care for that much. To all of you saying you don't like modern music - are you actually giving it a chance?

I'm one of those Boomers that generally dislikes modern music. Here's the thing - when I hear music I like, I'll totally own that, whether the music is old or new. And I often hear newer music I like. But this is the exception rather than the rule.
The truth is, it makes me sad that so many youth find themselves musically looking backwards over embracing what's current. When I was a teenager, I had zero interest in the music of the prior generation (and I did hear it - my parents played their music plenty). My interest was in the music current at the time, because IMO it was great music and I loved it. One difference between then and now is, there was more of a "centralized point" to discover new music, namely Top 40 radio (and to some extent TV shows like American Bandstand and Soul Train, both of which I watched regularly). Logistically, I fear the lack of a "centralized point" makes it harder today.
