I'm not a big fan of Country or Christian music, but there was a song from 1984 called Sweet Country Music by Atlanta that I absolutely love! It features lyrics from the 1937 Christian song Can the Circle Be Unbroken (By and By) by The Carter Family and a violin solo obviously inspired by the 1983 hit Mountain Music by Alabama and was a Top 5 hit on the Country charts in both the US and Canada

Opera music is also not my cup of tea, but in 1984, legendary British producer Malcolm McLaren released an Electronic interpretation of the Opera Madame Butterfly that featured lyrics sung in Operatic Italian and it was so well done! While it did not enter the US Hot 100, it was a Top 20 hit in both the UK and Canada. This song ranks amongst my favourites of all time!
