Subject: You know a decade is old when it’s a parody
Written By: CarCar on 08/24/21 at 2:12 am
The 80s, 90s and now the 2000s have and are going through a phase we’re everything that was new and innovative in the decades are seen as old and outdated and quite frankly as a joke.
The 2010s brought a self aware humor where people knew how ridiculous the decade actually was but how will this age in the future. How exactly do you make fun of a person or era that was self aware of how ridiculous they were.

That's the question. That was the whole hipster trip. Seeing everything through a scrim of irony. Ironic glasses. Ironic moustaches. Ironic listening to music. What a truly awful way to live.

Well what’s the opposite of irony, what ever comes in 20 years from now will probably the opposite of that. It definitely won’t be finding amusement in 2010s jokes in the way the 2010s like to meme it’s self with an endless cringe brigade.

I'm not sure there's a specific opposite of irony, but the closest would probably be sincerity. If there's a SINCERE decade coming up, sign me up! I've been yearning for that for years!

Agreed. Post irony killed humor for me.
