Subject: Your favorite songs by Latin artists

Spanish speaking or others.
Here's one that I love. And it's different because he is actually singing in English but still has that latin dance beat. This is probably the most beautiful song I have ever listened to.

I liked anything by Gloria Estefan from the early 90s and earlier. Too many favorites to list.

Selena was probably best known for Dreaming Of You and I Could Fall In Love. Great songs. But my favorite is Captive Heart.

Then there was this. Not a favorite now but a real blast from the past during my coming of age of music. I watched this on Friday Night Videos all the time.

I'm showing my age, but I always liked this song from Joan Baez. She isn't technically a Latin artist (her father comes from Mexico, her mother is of Scottish descent), nor would she classify herself as such, but I think it fits here. In 1974 she recorded an album all in Spanish, much to the dismay of her record company, because in 1974 it was considered highly uncommercial to release an all Spanish album for US consumption. She was ahead of her time on this.

Menudo from 1980-1984.
I was just gonna say, I really liked the Menudo song Hold me. It was from 1985 and is considered to be Ricky Martin's first chart appearance on the Billboard Hot 100. If my research has served me well, it was the only Menudo song to chart in the Billboard Hot 100

Here is Fiesta by Italian born singer Rafaella Carra. This song is from 1977 and was a big hit in several European countries and was even a Top 40 single in Canada. I like this one a lot!

Do you mean 'Latina and Latino" singers, for Latin in a different form is a language?
