Subject: Bridges

Does anyone else think that bridges are the most definitive part of an era?
My Favorite Bridges
Late 80s: January-July of 1987
Very early 90s: January-July of 1990
What do you think?

It is the same for me, but have you seen the 25 de Abril Bridge in Lisbon Portugal, it may look familiar. It is often compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, US, because they are both suspension bridges of similar color. It was built by the American Bridge Company which constructed the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, but not the Golden Gate.

Btw, that was almost the view we had out of our hotel window.

^ Nice. O0
I do see some similarities between that one and the Golden Gate. Same color, similar architecture... but the towers on this one contain X formations, which can be found on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge (which is a double-decker bridge that I have not traveled on, but have gotten near to). I even took pictures of it when we've been in port there.

Another favourite bridge of mine, which opened to traffic on 24 June 1981, the Humber Bridge, near Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, is a 2.22-kilometre single-span road suspension bridge. and spans the Humber (an estuary formed by the rivers Trent and Ouse), between Barton-upon-Humber on the south bank and Hessle on the north bank, connecting the East Riding of Yorkshire with North Lincolnshire.

I’ve a feeling the OP meant musical bridges.
My favourite is in the Robbie Williams song Strong because he sings and that’s a good line to take it to the bridge

This topic could turn into a bridge over troubled water and end up feeling groovy?

One of my favorite musicians is the legendary Leon Russell. His real name is Russell Bridges. Just a bit of trivia for y'all to pass the time.

I was talking about the bridge that connects one era to another. The greatest example to use was early 1990. The Bush 80s were becoming the Bush 1990s.

1989, especially. From January 1st of 1990 to sometime in August of 1990, the bridge between those months of 1990 and December of 1989 was up and running.

We have a lot of threads about transitional eras and years. Physical bridges I found refreshing.

Yes, I can see it presently. Excellent capture. O0

Perhaps so! (It's just that the one-word title of the thread was ambiguous in itself; it could have been interpreted in more ways than one, despite the OP.)

I think you have the power to lock it yourself. Scroll down to the bottom of the current page (of this thread) and you might see a link that says "Lock topic."
