Yeah, I don't think I'm in the same generation as my two-month-old nephew. ;D

I thought they officially confirmed that 1996 is the cutoff.

Same way I feel about my 7 month old cousin.

Generations will never be officially set in stone. I had to do a research project on this for my Year 12 HSC and there are literally thousands of different sources out there which spiel their own respective 'facts' and 'figures'. I wish more people would realise this. People get themselves into such heated arguments over when a generation starts and finishes, yet neither of them are in the wrong over what they are arguing about. Common sense will tell you that you're not in the same "generation" as someone 10+ years younger. You don't need a Buzzfeed list or some other ridiculous internet article to convince you to believe otherwise.

I think Pews definition isn’t accurate. I’ve never met anyone born in 1981 who was culturally millennial. 1996 babies weren’t old enough to be working during the recession. I was born in 1997 and they tried to make it seem like I was younger than what I was which triggered me lmao.
1) I remember 9/11 VIVIDLY!!! I was already 4 going into kindergarten when it happened and most of my class remembered it every time we had a moment of silence in high school. I mean it was a huge tragedy that was all over the news for months.. Idk maybe I have good memory.
2) I was in middle school with other Gen Yers when Obama was elected and when the recession hit globally in Sep 2007. I was old enough to understand most if not all of these things.
3) I was already a kid in school by 2000 (if you count preschool ?). I don’t understand how I’d be in a generation with people who couldn’t vote in 2016, don’t remember the ‘08 election, Iraq war, etc.
Generations are dumb. Culturally I relate a lot more to mid 90’s babies rather than babies born in the mid 2000’s.
