Subject: Children's Commercial Breaks for each Generation
Written By: ZeldaFan20 on 02/09/19 at 9:57 am
I decided to make a thread detailing the evolution of commercial breaks targeted at kids for each generation; Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, & Gen Z
Lets try not to argue too much on cutoff dates & such in this thread! This is just for fun....

Please limit only 2 videos per post and only 3 pics per post. Have some consideration for your fellow board members who don't have very powerful devices and it takes forever to load.
And if it happens again, I will start deleting!

I can't find the Clarks Shoes advert I remember from the seventies. It had the punchline "And Mummy say when I grow up I'm going to be a proper little madam"

Oh my, when I read this a bit too fast I actually read "madman" instead of "madam" and wondered who would use such nonsense for advertising.... :D

Interesting seeing those 1990 commercials. They feel so old and still have a lot of Late Gen X/80s childhood influences leftover.
This other Nick commercial break, from 1995, feels a lot more modern and firmly "early millennial childhood era", if you know what I mean, with Power Rangers and Nicktoons in full swing, and there's pretty much no 80s influence left.

I used to think the biggest difference was between 2000 and 2005, but after researching stuff that was before my time more the 1990 to 1995 difference trumps it, lol.

Why does my childhood look so old. :\'(
Here's some commercials that make me very nostalgic.

Right before the commercial break when they use to say, "We'll be right back after these messages!".
