That song that has that special something and sounds perfect. Lyrics, melody. It can be from any decade and you can post more than one.
I know I'm an 80s/90s kid, but I think this song by Ambrosia is so beautiful!

It's kinda hard to say right now. I have heard some really beautiful instrumental songs (that is, no lyrics at all) that have stood out, but it's hard to single out just one. As for songs that DO have lyrics, I'll have to come back to that.

The younger crowd may not be aware of how replete with beautiful songs the mid/late 60's, 70's and 80's were (slower songs in particular). As such, there's no way I can identify a "most beautiful song I've ever heard". Instead, I can identify a number of songs I would put in the "exceedingly beautiful" category. I'll just start posting - you can be the judge :)

I Feel Like Buddy Holly by Alvin Stardust. The lyrics are just wonderful and fit the soft melody like a glove!

With deep personal reasons I find that "Let It Be Me", best known sung by The Everly Brothers, "She" by Charles Aznavour, and "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, are beautiful songs for me.

Here's one... "Scarborough Fair" by Simon & Garfunkel, from late 1960s.
The song itself was actually written three centuries earlier, but Simon & Garfunkel recorded a rendition that was a hit on the charts c. 1968. Here is their full six-minute version:
