I have a video (yup, VHS) of The Wall: Live in Berlin. It was an all-star concert around the time of the Berlin wall was coming down.

What was the name of that British teacher in the film who said "If you can't have your meat, you can't have any pudding"? I think he passed away a long time ago. ???

Alex McAvoy is the name you seek for, he died in 2005, and as far as I can tell he is not related to the actor James McAvoy.

Scotland is a part of Great Britain, just like Northern Ireland, Wales, and England. Looking at his surname McAvoy is a Scottish family name with the Mc as the prefix, as in McDonald's. The prefix Mac in a family name indicates of Irish origin.
