Subject: Favorite Decades
Written By: Wobo on 02/04/18 at 11:19 pm
I have a curious question what decades do you guys favor?
Decades that I favor
1930s (Mostly because of the cartoons back then)
1940s (WW2)
1960s
1970s
^(I don't really favor the 60s or the 70s but they both seem like interesting decades)
1980s
1990s
2000s

I would say the two decades that shaped the 20th century and what followed, both popculture-wise and the societal changes that they brought with them. Im calling: the 20s and the 60s, very interesting to learn about. The other decades (especially the 40s, 70s, 80s and 2000s) are more interesting to me on a historical level because of of how much political turmoil and shifts happened in those decades.

I have no bias over the decades, except for the ones I was happy to be alive in, and all decades are equal!

If I were a girl, I would dress like this back in the 80's! I would put on even more makeup. :-X :-X :-X

1. 60s (rock 'n' roll, greasers, diners, garage rock and mods) and 2000s (emo, malls, Myspace and Youtube)
2. 70s (still some psych rock, funk, funky fashion, exploitation movies) and 80s (metal and goth)
3. 20s (flappers and skyscrapers) and 40s (much uniforms, much trenchcoats, so nice)
4. 1370s (bycockets, forked beards, houpplandes, awesome gothic and castle architecture), 1410s/20s (Joan of Arc, armet helmets and Milanese armor, the pleated coat and poulains) and 1840s (Poe, Dickens)
5. 1390s (first full plate armors, kinda inbetween 1370s and 1410s), 1820s (Byron, tailcoats, Romanticism) and 1890s (big cities vs the countryside, Van Gogh, Sherlock Holmes, tweed)
60. 90s and 2010s /ewe\

I listened to an audio book about Queen Elizabeth I and her reign not long ago and it was very interesting. Well, not to mention how fascinating Ancient Egypt is! When we go that far back I tend not to see things in terms of decades though.

I constantly wish I was born in 1975 so I could experience the early-mid 90s. I'm always making scenarios in my head about the things I'd do and what I'd be experiencing first-hand. Must've been crazy to see the rise of the internet, grunge, hip hop, new jack swing, mobile phones, and so much more.
