So we all know the debates about '90s kids, '90s babies, etc and all those debates divide those born in the 1990s (1990-1999). However, I want to create this thread to discuss the similarities the similarities that those of us born in "The Last Decade of the 20th Century" share in common.

We were all between the ages of 10-12 at some point during the 2000s. Also, anyone born in the 1990s can remember the Early 2000s to some extent.

Well, your question was that what all 90s folks share in common; this is the answer that came to mind. Only the early 00s folks remember the 2008 election.

Some similarities I can currently think of is that:

1. All people born in the 1990s were born BEFORE 9/11/01.

2. All people born in the 1990s were born closer to the end of the 1980s than the start of the 2010s.

- They lived in a time when Reagan was alive
- They recall when video games were diverse
- They're the last to remember the Taco Bell mascot being alive
- They were all in elementary at some point in the 00s.
- They're the last to recall either Blockbuster or Hollywood Video
- They're the last to remember when analog tech were common

They're the last to spend a significant portion of their childhood before smartphones were popular.

Lots of the points raised only applies to American children/young adults

The tv programmes you mention didn't air in the UK (or only if you had satellite tv which wasn't that common)

They may not have known (or cared) who the US president was

Taco Bell is still not really a thing in the UK (or in most other countries)

And maybe it only applies to my children but I'm not sure they would know a 5th generation video game console if it jumped up and bit them.  Not every family is into gaming and other tech

Well, yes these posts are American centric because the posters are American and so are the overwhelming majority of the users on here.

Also, we know that not every one is into gaming or can afford it but these are just statements that are meant to be general/generalizations.

Between September 2005 and June 2008 all people born in the 90s were in grade school.
By the start of the 2040s all people born in the 90s will be middle aged
