Subject: Calling All Trekkies

Written By: CatwomanofV on 04/14/15 at 4:05 pm

Any Trekkies out there?

I just realized that beside the "Star Trek A to Z" in the games, there has never been a thread about Star Trek (at least not that I have found).

So, to start it off:

-What is/are your favorite series?
-Who is/are your favorite characters?
-What is/are your favorite episodes?

As for me, we are in the middle of watching DS9 for the first time. Haven't watch Voyager or Enterprise yet-but that is on the queue. (We probably won't watch the Animated series.)

I think my favorite character is Data.

I recommend watching TNG & DS9. Both are very good-in many ways better than the original series.

I think most Trekkies have left to boldly go where no man has gone before. :D ;) ;D

As for me: I used to watch Star Trek almost religiously. I enjoyed The Next Generation and DS9 very much, and Voyager to some extent, but I never really got into Enterprise.

Favorite character...? Would it really surprise you if I said Seven of Nine? ::)

I would never call myself a Trekkie but I did watch the original series. I never really cared for any
of the spin off series though I did see a few episodes of The Next Generation.

My favorite episode: The Trouble With Tribbles.

Character: Pavel Chekov

The only episode I remember from original series is "Wink of an Eye". The concept fascinated me back then.

DS9 revisited The Trouble With Tribbles. They called it "Trials and Tribble-ations"  ;D ;D  It was actually done very well. They pretty much photoshopped the cast from DS9 into the OS (Original Series) show. You can watch the ep but it might not make much sense if you don't know the characters from DS9. Actually, DS9 revisits a few things that were started on the OS.

I'm a HUGE Trekkie.  Been to two conventions, met alot of the original cast (well three anyway) Sulu, Chekov, and Uhuru.
Met Worf and Deanna Troi.

Met my husband with the help of Trek.  We have a Star Trek Diorama on our fireplace mantel.

While I've never worn a Star Trek uniform or "the ears" yet, I may someday if I can manage not to look ridiculous in a short skirt.

I've never been to a convention. I have known people who have.

There was one time I met someone who was an "officer" in Starfleet, had their own ship, etc.

Check this out.

Actually, Enterprise and Voyager were pretty damned good.  You just have to watch them in order because otherwise you will be lost.

The Animated series has some ups and downs, but there is at least one episode you need to watch, "Yesteryear".  This is the one that went into depth in Spock's childhood, and is considered by many as one of the finest ST episodes ever made.  Another good one was "More Tribbles, More Troubles", which like the original was written by David Gerrold.  But I have to admit, most of TAS is forgettable.

Welcome back, Mushroom. Hope you will stick around for a while.

We are now half-way through Voyager. I don't think it is as good as DS9 & TNG but I still like it.
