If you ever pay attention to the lyrics, the first time you listen to this song you might think the singer is describing a woman he used to know, but when we reach the end, we find out it's his daughter.
Can you think of other songs that pull a twist ending like that? I can't think of too many recent onces

If you listen to George Thorogood's cover of the song he adds another little twist. It is not his daughter who placed
the call but his estranged....The plot thickens.

I have always liked this song but I like Thorogood's version the best. In the original version I think the story is incomplete.

Kind of related: Led Zeppelin's song All My Love was about Robert Plant's son who died while he was on tour

Golden Brown by The Stranglers is a famous one, it's actually about heroin.
I Used to Love H.E.R. by Common would be another example.
