Subject: TV characters you wish you could throw a brick at

Written By: warped on 09/04/13 at 6:16 pm

What are some TV characters you wish you could throw a brick at?  Some you didn't like. Some you even hated. Sometimes that means they were successful at what they were doing at getting that reaction from you... ;)

Doesn't mean you didn't watch the show, you might have liked the show they were in, you just wish you could throw a brick at them  ;D

List some TV characters that make you throw a brick through your TV  (don't worry Q, the TV doesn't break)  :D

Here are some for me:

Oscar Goldman - Six Million Dollar Man. Just couldn't stand the guy
Charles Emerson Winchester - MASH. Rich, pompous, and always thought he was better than everyone else. But MASH was such a great show that even his presence didn't stop me from watching.
Cora Beth Godsey - Waltons. Just couldn't stand her. She was too annoying.
Lana from Three's Company. I have no idea why they had her on. For me she wrecked every scene she was in  ;D
Harriet Oleson from Little House On The Prairie. Irritating ...
Ted from Mary Tyler Moore . Just irritating. I always wished bad stuff would happen to him  ;D

Agree with your list warped.

Here's a few that annoyed me over the yaers. I realise thay are mostly children...

Kim Bauer in 24 ... nice to look at but wished she was killed off quickly.
Most of the cast of Welcome Back Cotter ... but they were meant to have that effect and I loved them for it.
Any young boy with pageboy type hair ... like Adam Rich in Eight Is Enough or Cousin Oliver in Brady Bunch.

... and while we're talikng Brady Buncht ...Cindy Brady!

The young boy in The Middle ... he looks and sounds like a little troll!
The young boy in Malcolm In the Middle (same issue ... American tv people must go looking for that type).

I'm sure more will come .... like George Costanza.

Boss Hogg - The Dukes of Hazzard.  The episodes where the bad guys would turn the tables on Boss, once he even got kidnapped.  This wouldn't happen if the fat bastard would stop doing crooked things.  This was the whole premise of the show though, and I wouldn't change it for the world!

Bart Furley - Three's Company.  Just cause you own the building doesn't mean you can boss your brother around and be a jerk

Mr. Angelino - Three's Company.  If my boss always yelled at me like that, I'd smash him with my fist

Mark Craig - St. Elsewhere.  I know Erlich cracks wise all the time, but he is a talented surgeon.  Stop yelling at him!  Was still a great character though and William Daniels played him exceptionally well!

Eunice Harper-Higgins - Mama's Family.  Always jealous thinking Mama loved Vint and Ellen more and never stopped her bickering.  Still a good character and played wonderfully by Carol Burnett

Ha! I agree with these.
I'd like to add any of the kids on "Full House" as well, and "Claude" on the original Degrassi.

And I agree with all your choices, Whistledog...except I didn't watch St Elsewhere much so I don't know that character enough.

You mean ALL of the kids on "Full House"? They weren't that bad.

I'm surprised you remember "Claude" from Degrassi because I don't think he was in too many episodes. For the original Degrassi, I would pick Becky. She was that know-it-all bulimic blonde from a lower grade that liked to turn other kids/teachers into scapegoats. Basically she was a beyotch.

Claude was one of the most memorable characters on Degrassi.  The ep where he took his own life was big news back in the day and still remains one of the most infamous "serious" episodes in the history of an TV show

Yeah, I didn't like Kathleen either.  It seemed like she was always so selfish.  I remember the episode where she had that abusive boyfriend named Scott, I used to cheer when he would beat her up lol

Whew. I was worried.  ;)

Currently watching Game Of Thrones and I'd love to drop kick both "King" Joffrey & the "Prince" of Greyjoy ( or whatever) though the other side of TV land.

Becky (I) from Roseanne could've used a brick or two to the head. She was so whinny
Herb Tarkleck WKRP cuz. Well. He's herb
Schneider One Day at a Time (see above and substitute Schneider for herb)
Ralph malph Happy Days (see above and.....)
George Jefferson (Jefffersons) &  JJ Evans Good Times found nothing funny about either character.

Dr. and Mrs. Huxtable.

I liked them. It was Sondra I didn't like. But not worthy of a brick. Almost.

Another is Gopher on the Love boat. Ugh..

Wayne (Kevin's brother) on the Wonder Years.

Tim the Toolman (Home Improvement)

Carlton (Fresh Prince of Bel Air)

Screech (Saved by the bell)

Paul (Spin City)

Vince - Mike and Molly.  I still find him funny, but the episode where he threw his back out was super gross

Harriet - Small Wonder - Nosy neighbour kid.  Get out of here before I call the police!

Chief Fletcher Daniels - Hill Street Blues - He only ever showed up when something happened and he wanted to be the one on the news making it look like he saved the day

Scott Scanlon - Beverly Hills, 90210 - His accidental suicide improved the show.  He was always so jealous that David was becoming part of the cool group.  It's not David's fault that you're still a loser

It ran 4 years in syndication.  I still don't know how.  Looking back now, it really was a bad show, but at the time, it was at the height of the 80s robot craze, so alot of people loved it for its silliness.

awww. I love both of them!

I hate Jeff goldblum's character on L&O CI. Maybe I just hated the Jeff. Lol. I stopped watching any of his eps after the first one.

The other one I hated on SVU was the blonde chick who briefly worked with Elliot...I think her character name was Danni  And I also disliked Det Lake (Adam Beach) he had the personality of a wet washcloth.  ::)

Marcia Brady- Just so damn perfect, I just wanted her to have bad things happen to her….a football to the nose isn't the START of what bad things she should endure….(I know, I'm evil).

Dee (What's Happening) - Just once, just once, I wanted her to get a smack down, her attitude towards everyone, needed some serious adjustment. No one kid can be that smart alec-y and get away with it, not all the time.

Joe Friday (Dragnet) - I always wanted one of his "perps" to have just the right come back response to one of his "moral indignation as-a-cop-and-good-citizen" lectures. Actually his overly rigid, ultra-conservative anti-hippie, anti-counter couture, denial of reality and the real world around him stance is what made Dragnet such a blast to watch.

Phyllis - Never understood the character at all. The fact that it was an actual series within itself still amazes me. What a completely neurotic and irresponsible person. Don't get me wrong, Cloris Leachman is one of the great actresses of the last century, but the character of Phyllis was just annoying.

Kono (Hawaii 5-0) - Just what was his purpose on this show? Awkward, a little bit mentally deficient, clumsy, big Hawaiian guy as supposedly elevated super cop? Like he somehow really distinguished himself above a regular beat Honolulu cop to be assigned to the supposedly elite 5-0 unit?  ::) Not exactly bright, or agile, or even worthy of being associated with the crack team that you'd expect McGarret to put together. So big he couldn't even fit into a business suit without his big butt sticking out of it. Want to see something funny? Watch him run after a perp on the show…I wouldn't feel safe with him on the job. Dufus with a badge if you ask me. Notice he was gone after the 5th or 6th season or so without a explanation? Do you really wonder why?

(In striped polo) He's the whiniest, complaining-est, little bastard I've ever seen. The show's only 3 episodes in, and already if I saw him on the street, I'd toss anything heavy I could get my hands on, at him. Pull a Cher, slap him and holler "Snap out of it!"

Jack Arnold from the Wonder Years----I really don't know what to make of him. Once in a while he was a great dad, but other times he was an utter jerk. In one episode, he SHOUTS (and I'm not talking about a lecturing voice) at his kid for leaving his bike in the driveway. Oh and how could I forget the pottery episode---he becomes explosive at his wife for making pottery instead of buying him his stupid Pepsi, and when she stands up for herself, he storms out of the house and doesn't return till after midnight. There were a few other shenanigans, and basically he was just a chauvinistic grump.
