I was 7 to 17 years old during the 70s, so for me the 70s are the best decade ever.  Often people look back on their childhood and teen years and say "that was the best decade ever". It works that way most of the time, but not always.

Haha, I was born in 1979 so the 1980s were my 'informative childhood years'. I don't think I would particularly want to go back because that stops me from looking forward but it's nice to go on Youtube, watch some old 80s nostalgia and go 'yeah!'  8)

Movies? 1970s. On location filmmaking became big this decade, and its one of the best sources to see how the world really looked back then. It was also the peak of the New Hollywood era, with the quaintness of the Hays Code finally a thing of the past, but before special effects increasingly became part of it.
Music? 1960s. The decade begins with what was "good" that most people associate about the '50s (rock 'n roll, doo-wop, early R&B), and ends with progressive rock, jazz fusion, and funk, along with the earliest synthesizers. Let's not forget the two greatest rock groups of all-time.
TV? 1980s. Sure, the '50s-'70s may have the more "classic" shows, but this was the decade when cable became mainstream, and with it MTV, HBO, CNN, Nickelodeon, the earliest incarnation of the Disney Channel, and even Pay-Per-View. Commercials still had their classy, catchy jingles, the major networks were still launching the most important programming, and even things like daytime TV were interesting with the peak of soap operas, game shows, and talk shows that were informative. You could catch reruns of "the best" from previous decades in syndication or on cable channels like TBS or Nick at Nite.
Fashion? 1950s. Yes, I'd wish women's hair to be a bit longer, but I like certain cuts, and the elegant gowns, while leather became hip on young men. Each season also had a distinct style that you don't find nowadays. Too bad I keep getting outbid when trying to bid on magazines from this era.
Events/Politics? 1990s. No wonder a certain journalist called this decade a "holiday from history", and even though it was when political correctness came of age, it was more center-left than far left like we saw during the Obama era. The economy was actually better than the 1950s even. It was also cool wondering what technological innovation would come next. 
Toys? 1990s. Note that this includes video games, but you still had action figures and playsets pretty popular, even old school stuff like board games.

Music: '10s. The '70s also had really nice music.
TV: '00s for kids shows, and '10s for the rest.
Fashion: '10s for men, and late '80s/early '90s for women.
Events/Politics: '60s for sure.
Toys: '00s since I wasn't born yet before the '00s and was a bit too old for most of the '10s.
