The thing is, Endora was really the stronger of the two. It was funny, as a kid I never really liked Endora but as an adult, I think she was great. And she was also correct that Darren was trying to suppress Samantha because his male ego couldn't handle the fact that his wife was more powerful than he was. The reason why I am not sure which (or is that witch ;) ) one I am more like, I am not as independent as Endora but I do not allow myself to be suppressed like Samantha. I am someplace in between the two. (And no, I am not like Serena.)

Totally true. Not sure if mid 60s was ready to allow Samantha to suppress her husband too much. But yeah, Endora was very strong. And just like you, I didn't like her as a child and was a little bit afraid of her.

But looking back, she is probably what many women strive for-being strong and independent and can hold her own with ANY man (even Maurice).
