I kind of think popular movies are going more the way of "Superbad" and "Pineapple Express" and less toward the romantic comedy. Even some of the current romantic comedies are more along those lines - "Knocked Up" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" are perfect examples of that. Crass, but funny and "romantic."
Mostly I just like to use quotation marks. " "

Mr. Perfect and Miss Beautiful have relationship problems too -- but they're funny and you need a Kleenex at the end!
(not what I was thinkingyes it was)

Oh, snap!
My husband is afraid of her. He thinks her mouth is too big and she will eat him.
I don't have any issues with her, personally.

She does have a big mouth but luckily I wouldn't mind if she sucked my face off, lol.
If romantic comedies were uphill to start with I would say 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' was where they jumped the shark. This film started the 'let's be coy, do some self conscious/embarrassing things but ultimately everything will be amazing in the end' formulaic yawnfest Hollywood keep producing time and again.

Maybe the honest answer for me is when I got bitter about romance, which happened when I was, uh, 20!
