Please share some of your favorites, and include videos if you want. also...the song doesn't have to be 100% acoustic, just mainly acoustic. If there's some electric guitar, well that's ok 8)

I too liked 'My Sweet Lord' which I always thought beared a slight resemblance to 'Kind of A Drag' by The Buckinghams
We had a popular one in Canada, circa 1989 called All the Things I Wasn't by a group called The Grapes of Wrath. I never used to like it, but over the years, it really grew on me :)

you think they sound similar? I'd have to listen, but I thought The Buckinghams song was different, but now that I'm playing it in my head, there is a similarity. good observation 8)

I like "My Sweet Lord" too... the drumbeats kinda 'develop' in that song and become noticeable during the second minute.
Other than that, I still have a soft spot for the greatly overplayed 'More Than Words' by Extreme

I've developed a liking for it too!
As for some newer songs w/ acoustic guitars, some of my faves include "Drive" by Incubus (2001), and "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat (2007).

One of the things I like about acoustic songs is their ability to reach people with considerable differences in taste. We may like totally different genres of music but we can come together and enjoy the same acoustic songs. 8)

Anything by Duane Eddy, who got his start around 1958 and recorded through the 70s, and who briefly returned to the spotlight when Art of Noise used his guitar as the basis for their 1986 rendition of Peter Gunn.
Although he didn't record any albums after 1987, he never stopped playing/touring. A 2005 interview implies that he's still playing.
Recommended introduction: the 2-disc Twang Thang anthology, which I bought for the Twang Mix of Peter Gunn, but l enjoyed so much that... well, 20 years ago, my parents were confused enough to see me digging through their stash of vinyl, and were even more bewildered when I answered "Looking for anything with Duane Eddy and his Twangy Guitar! This guy's great!"
