No mention of Bullitt - arguably the best car chase ever? You guys must be going after the more obscure car chases. I liked the Starsky and Hutch one.

interesting story, i heard that the charger the bad guys were driving made it all the way through that shoot but they had to shop or replace mcqueen's mustang like five times.
and naw, i thought about posting bullitt but i decided to let someone else have the honors. you go man. 8) i love that damn scene.
okay, so overall this movie is imperfect but frankly i love this chase scene. matrix reloaded.

yup, same director as witch mountain! which is part of the reason why the car chases in the witch mountain movies are so awesome. :D
the vanishing point is very angsty stuff; it's not really action-packed or got lots of stunts, it's just cars driving really fast in competition. it's pretty great for that reason, kinda goes to the whole lonely-hero stuff with the car fencing guy. it's a really political movie.
and as for the italian flick, that was great. it's funny, in italy the licensing is different, like, all those street scenes in bullitt, i bet they had to rope off the streets and then populate them with carefully chosen extras. in the italian movie i bet all those bystanders are just real pedestrians going oh man, what the hell?
