Subject: Best Facial Expressions Shown In Animation Cartoons

Written By: woops on 06/24/08 at 8:12 pm

1. Looney Tunes

Especially Bugs Bunny, Wile. E Coyote, and Daffy Duck. The best would either be from director Chuck Jones (especially the eye movements, Daffy in "Ali Baba Bunny") and Bob Clampett (more fast pace/surreal, the Porky's "Kitty Kornored").

2. Tex Avery's MGM cartoons with the jaw dropping and eye poppin' (ie "Red Hot Riding Hood").

3. Ren & Stimpy. Creator John Krisfalusi's inspiration is obiviously Looney Tunes director Bob Clampett and also his own twisted animation.

4. "Beavis & Butt-Head"... Some of the animation is the most grittiest I've seen like the duo's close up when they scream (ie "Friday Night") and also Mr. Stevenson's expression in the prank calling episode.

5. "The Mighty B!"

The strange close-ups are similar as "Ren & Stimpy" (especially that animator Bill Wray also worked on the show). Especially the characters Mary Francis Gibbons  and the snobby Portia.

Whoever animates "Jimmy Two-Shoes" pulls off some expressions with it's use of flash animation.
