I think most of you know by now of my super crush on Harrison Ford - 22 years going strong ;D But, to be honest, the man in my life is my real life Harrison Ford and he makes me plenty happy :)

I also started a huge interest in Franklin Roosevelt around this time of year 11 years ago watching an A & E Biography on him. I am not so sure what made me so interested in him after that biography, but something about the way he worked as a man and how he overcame such obstacles in his life to be a president longer than any other served must have struck a chord with me. After that point, I started reading lots of books on his life, watching documentaries, TV movies about him and Eleanor, etc.

Other ones that I have collections of: Vivien Leigh, Ava Gardner, Audrey Hepburn, Disneyland, John Singer Sargent, Victoriana, etc.

Awww sweetie, I think you're just so cute when you're talking about things you love, or people you think are hot/your crushes in general. I just love that.
That is pretty cool though about Johnny wearing a Ramones shirt. That would be like if Paula Abdul were wearing one with Back to the Future, Huey Lewis or Weird Al Yankovic, lol. Although she'd still never be anywhere near as cute as you are, no matter what. ;)

About why and how I became a fan of 'you know who'
http://www.playbill.com/images/photos/gibson1_1137679106.jpg
Discovered Deb around 1997 watching one of those '80's themed video marathons on MTV ("Authentic Reproduction"), which I remember a "Club MTV" performance of "Only In My Dreams". Also "Shake Your Love" on a show VH1 had for a few months featuring dance pop videos.
I was getting into pop & new wave music from the '80's, though mostly into some "post grunge" bands like Beck & Green Day.
Though got into her later stuff in 1999 when I found one of her later albums and also started listening to her early albums since I was only familiar with a few hits from "Out of the Blue" and "Lost In Your Eyes" song, which made me realize how great she really is as a singer/songwriter even at a young age at the time. Her later lalbums are also great...though should've gotten the recognition they deserve.
Especially in ballads, which I find her voice very soothing/appealing to listen to. Her upbeat songs are great too. Also enjoyed "Colored Lights" despite that I'm not into musical theatre.
Besides being talented, she always had a kind face, down to earth personality (from what I read, though wouldn't want to meet her or any celebrity since it could be a letdown) and class unlike several pop singers from recent times.
Not to mention of the best and underrated pop singer/songwriters of the last 20 years despite what narrowminded music snobs, wannabe music critics and haters think.
She's now a successful stage actress and nowhere near a "hasbeen". Hey, would Matthew Broderick be too since he mostly does theatre. I think not. (BTW, nt a fan of him, but trying to make a point)
Here's an interview from some months ago, which she talks about her music, theatre, Playboy, and why she went from "Debbie" to "Deborah" (which she never liked to be called "Debbie" as a teen)
BTW, I don't want her to be overexposed or whatever and just want her to be be respected as an artist since she's more than an '80's pop princess. Bon Jovi was once the butt of jokes in the 1990's and now taken seriously as an artist. So why not Deborah Gibson?
Also that she needs a long awaited comeback. I know she'll never be as popular like she was during her 'electric youth', but a moderate hit could happen. Her "Think With Your Heart" album could've sank Celine Dion off the charts and "MYOB" could've given her another top 10. Though she did tried to appeal to the youth market by touring with N'Sync. There's a few people under 25 that are into her, but not as much compared to those into the flavor of the week. (BTW, I actually like some current artists like Fergie and NB despite that I've claimed to dislike current pop music)
She had a moderate hit in 2006 with Jordan Knight on the duet "Say Goodbye" that peaked at #23 at the Billboard Adult Contemorary Charts. Though only little radio airplay. Something like Shaggy's comeback or Kylie's US comeback (song given more airplay) would've been better.
She's currently working on a new album, featuring Cinderella drummer Fred Coury producing some songs.
Also putting up a theatre camp (Camp Electric Youth) with acting coach Howard Fine in the summer to separate the dtermined thesbians from those that want to be famous for the sake of being famous.
Here's a Wikepedia page on Deb.

Debbie Gibson plans a Vegas takeover
5:52 PM EDT, October 2, 2007
At 19, Debbie Gibson had it all -- two hit records, a popular perfume and an ASCAP award for Songwriter of the Year. Since then she's shed her girly name (it's Deborah now, mind you), worked her way through Broadway, glided through "Skating with Celebrities" and has big plans to take over Las Vegas -- she's just not talking details yet. We caught up with the Long Island native to see what's shaking in her world (besides your love).
You made your mark in the '80s as Debbie Gibson, a name you said your label preferred. Why do you now go by Deborah? From the minute I shook someone's hand and said "Hi, I'm Debbie," I wanted to change it back. I kind of felt that I may as well have said my name was Penelope or Ronald McDonald. I may change it back yet again. For some reason people are uncomfortable with full names. People say to me, do you mind if I call you Debbie? I say sure, but it will seem like you don't know me very well.
Do you prefer performing on Broadway to just plain singing? I never divided my career into segments I never want to be reliant on one area. Theater is great for keeping up your chops in an arena where it's appreciated. It's nice to be among people that demand excellence, but it's great to have the freedom of a pop audience. It's like the yin and the yang for me. I don't think anyone would ever put a gun to my head and tell me I had to choose.
Why do you think so many former child stars have problems these days? I think the focus has shifted. It's hard to tell which came first: The media influencing how kids think or how were raised. Kids now grow up thinking I want to be a star. They don't have a love of any particular craft it's so backwards. A lot of artists don't have people around them who respect their emotions as human beings.
Is the paparazzi situation better or worse today? It definitely is worse now. My street had to be closed off on my high school graduation day and my prom day, but it wasn't as crazy as it is here .
Do you ever whip out a copy of "Out of the Blue" at home and sing along? No! Honestly, I've been performing those songs so often. I do love performing them I would never be one of those people who disowns my past. Straight ahead listening to it? No, not so much.
What's next for you? I'm working on new music. It's kind of pop rock with a theatrical melodic side to it. I'm actually producing my own summer camp out here next year with Howard Fine. I want to instill in kids not only the skills they need and the technique, but I would love to try to instill that kind of mind-body connection in terms of having longevity in the business and not feeling the need to have that mindset where everything is instant.

Noel Fielding from the Mighty Boosh, he's just got that special something, the 'X' ingredient, very charismatic. As my friend Soo says you could just sit and watch him all night.

I first noticed her when she was opposite Mel Gibson in Hamlet, playing Ophelia. Not only did I notice how strikingly beautiful she is, but what an incredible actor she is. (Shakespearian acting is the hardest IMO). She is also in the latest Harry Potter movie-which brings me to my latest obsession. ;) Yes, I do have Harry Potter fever. What is so nice is that Carlos has it, too. ;) :D ;D ;D

I hadn't heard that yet.... my guess is they will keep it because of the writer's strike.... the networks can't afford to cancel shows this year because depending on how long the strike lasts it could very well jeopardize next seasons prospects.
