there is already a thread to this effect but it's too old to post in anymore. so i thought i'd start another since i think i finally know what mine are. in no particular order... except the first four...
1. 2001 a space odyssey
2. citizen kane
3. taxi driver
4. annie hall
5. night of the living dead
6. magnolia
7. children of men
8. the last wave
9. bringing up baby
10. the conversation
not necessarily the best movies ever, objectively, but movies that have made a big difference to me personally.

I hate these because I can never really narrow it down.... If I could only watch 10 movies for the rest of my life... I would say in no particular order
Full Metal Jacket
Dreamgirls
Grease 2
Dirty Dancing
Love & Basketball
Adventures in Babysitting
Pretty Woman
Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (DUH!)
Superman I&II (I'd package them together so they'd count as one)
SpidermanI&II (Ditto)
However, some my all time favorite films that didn't make the list are
Imitation of Life (1959)
Stella Dallas
Lady Sings The Blues
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
I love these films but wouldn't watch them everyday!
