These are not my songs, but they are a few of my very favorites that many people in North America haven't heard before. Atleast not in thier original form. Mariah's sampled the first in 'Fantasy', and the second in 'Heartbreaker'.

Mark Morrison also sampled 'Genius of Love' in his song 'Return of the Mack'
I know the first two songs, and all of those Smiths songs. I'm not a real big Smiths fan. I like the first three you listed, but not a big fan of the latter two

"Genius of Love" by the Tom Tom Club (1982) has always been popular where I live. Mariah Carey used some snippits in her song "Fantasy."

He did? I thought that the drumbeat sounded similar. I know Mariah Carey sampled it in her 1995 hit "Fantasy." She even sang a couple lines from it.
