Subject: Favorite decade of fashion?
Written By: xSiouXBoIx on 09/22/07 at 10:03 am
My favorite decades are the 20's, 60's, 70's and 80's, especially the early 80's.
The late 1910's/1920's and the 1960's were such chic and stylish times. I absolutely love the art deco and mod looks that came from those times.
I love the luxurious and decadent look of clothing from the early 20's, and the tailored and chic looks of the late 20's.
And I love the sleek and chic looks of the early 60's, and the mod and psychedelic looks of the late 60's.
Early 1920's: The French made the most BEAUTIFUL and exotic looking clothing during this period.

it just occured to me how the 20's, like the 60's, were a time of social changes, the 30's, like the 70's, were a time of economic troubles, and the 40's, like the 80's, was a time when there was alot of pride to be American.

40's and 50's were very classy. Too bad people were still racist back then. =/
I would love to see a revival of 40's/50's fashion or some variation of it.

If we're talking clothes then it's the 70s. I love the hippie-inspired clothes. The bellbottoms, flowy Indian-style tops etc.
Much as I love the 80s, the fashion was the worst. Great to look back on, but definitely not to come back into fashion.
The 90s was a bit dull but thankfully the 00s have regained some proper style.

50s and 90s, the fashion of 2002-2006 sucks! Thank God that in 2007 things are starting changing. Whoa, I have a brand new curtained hair!

the 50s.I like some early 60s stuff too.there's a misconception that 60s stuff is all skimpy, they often they're loosely cut and can look baggy on the wrong person.Typical 50s stuff let the wearer be seen more.

I really like 70s fashion, though a lot of people think it was horrible.
I kind of like underground 80s fashion too, though I find most of the mainstream looks to be annoying.

There's some good from every time, but my personal favorite would be the '90s. Especially 1991-1996 in the grunge era.
Everything was nice and casual, and except for the most extreme stuff, it wasn't cheesy. For instance, the only way someone would tell you "Hey man, that looks so Nineties" is if you wore, say a flannel shirt, had blonde highlights, wore parachute pants and had a Jay and Silent Bob or a Nirvana T-shirt. All together it would look silly, but on its own, that stuff has survived pretty well. Especially plaid and flannel shirts, which I still wear all the time.

there was a revival in the late 70's and 80's.
I mean in mainstream fashion. Like how the 70's is known for bell-bottoms and afros and the 80's for the big hair and tacky colors.
