The span of Broadway theatre goes far enough, that a poll on here would be next to impossible!

Therefore, I ask you: Which Broadway show is your ticket?

Funny that you mention "Cats"-

I performed with a dancer in my Performance Show Choir, who later went on to be in "Cats", in NY.
Her name is Joyce Chittick.

The most flexible, and yet shortest dancer I've ever worked with. (Also beat everyone in belching...long story)

Her hair was so long, if she braided it, and you were her dance partner, Heaven help ya when she whipped her head, in a quick turn!
Many's the time I came home, with welts on my face, just from being beaten up by her hair!
BTW, i was also in a "Cats" medley- I was Old Deuteronomy.

Les Miserables the only one on this list I've seen. I took my wife & daughter to see it in San Francisco and it was great.  They have both gone to see and totally love Wicked & Rent

I hope to see "Jekyll & Hyde" one of these days.

I have another old friend from my "Best of Broadway" days, who sung on the original soundtrack.
Her name's Grace Hotchkiss.

I love everything from the traditional to the off kilter.

*Rocky Horror was a London production before coming to Broadway where it tanked, unfortunately.*

Only the first two were in London, the rest were touring productions that came to Oxford.

Actually, I myself liked it...

What it did was use the story presented in "Kilroy Was Here", and parlayed it into a plausible story.

If you're not familiar w/KWH-

The story is set in the near future. Rock & roll has been outlawed and banned.
The figure behind this (played by James Young) is Dr. Everett Righteous, leader of the Majority For Musical Morality (MMM).
Together with his chief henchmen- Col. Hyde (the late John Panozzo) and Lt. Vanish (Chuck Panozzo),
they stage a takeover of the Government, and when in power, they sacrifice one of their own followers, by killing them in a rock concert, and framing famed rocker Robert Orin Charles Kilroy (played by Dennis deYoung). This allows them to totally ban R'n'R.

10 years later, society is changed. Human workers are replaced by Robotos- tireless, needing nothing but basic maintenance, and cheaper than human labor. Humans are shipped off to either Righteous's Army, or in cases like musicians, packed off to "Reform Institutes", or prisons.

Dr. Righteous now faces an underground threat- the mysterious Jonathan Chance (played by Tommy Shaw). He and a few pockets of humans who have escaped capture are determined to bring R'n'R back. Jonathan breaks into the main Prison Compound, where Kilroy is held. Chance then hacks into the TV Network, and replaces Righteous Broadcasting with outlawed footage of a rock concert.
Kilroy is inspired, and makes his escape by overpowering a Roboto, then disguising himself as one.

Moving about the city, Kilroy finds graffiti clues which lead him to the Paradise Theatre, now a museum about R'n'R music, and a warning to all who would defy the MMM. Jonathan Chance & Kilroy meet, and Kilroy recounts the story of what happened that fateful night.

At the end, Jonathan is given a special gift by Kilroy, before Kilroy leaves- his old guitar.
Jonathan tries it out, and becomes inspired to be the next voice of Rock Music.

Quite good, if you don't mind it being in semi-concert format.

K and I were in Runaways together.  It was more song than dialogue...but the songs were not POP songs.  I think that's the different. 

CARRIE?  Carrie the musical?  When did that come and go and I had no idea.  And you liked it?  I just can't imagine such a thing.  Bad enough they make movies out of King novels.  (Or is there another "Carrie" that I'm unaware of?)

I think Ken Hill wrote that musical, just like he wrote the spoof version of "Phantom Of the Opera".

I saw that...apalling!
He took a classic, and turned it into Mad Magazine without the charm!
Dreadful trash!

I have checked out this database, and it's OK....depends on what you look for.

It seems to do better with play titles, rather than playwrights, which is how I usually do it.
