I think you may have asked this one before, Howard...

...but as it's you, I'll answer again...!!

The only one of that lot I'm familiar with is 'Let's Celebrate', a feel-good soul/funk number from the early 80s...pretty good...

But the track that's really indelibly etched on my memory is 'Giving It To You' - released in 1986 - indelibly etched because it was a huge club hit in the discos of Greece where I was holidaying that year (and what a holiday that was...!!) - haven't heard it in years, but I could probably recite every single word off by heart...

For the record, the band were known as 'New York Skyy' here in Blighty - simply because there was another (albeit very different) group going by the name of 'Sky' at that time...

In London UK till they reached New York in the early 1980's with songs like Call Me and Let's Celebrate in 1982.

Definitely not. They had a #32 hit over here with "Call Me".

That's what Paul said: there already was a band called Sky in UK (their "Toccata" hit #20 in our charts, btw), so Skyy was renamed New York Skyy in UK, I guess.  ;)

I found this in Allmusic

New York City octet, one of three funk and/or disco bands in which producer/keyboardist Randy Muller was involved. The original lineup featured Denise, Delores, and Bonny Dunning as vocalists, with guitarists Solomon Roberts and Anibal Anthony Sierra, keyboardist Larry Greenberg, bassist Gerald Lebon, and drummer Tommy McConnell. Muller organized the group and they recorded for Salsoul from the late '70s until 1984. Their biggest hit was "Call Me" in 1981, an R&B chart-topper. They could do sweeping funk tracks, dance-oriented cuts, or light ballads, although they never enjoyed the crossover success of a group like Atlantic Starr. They moved to Capitol in 1986 and enjoyed their biggest hit in quite some time with "Givin' It (To You)," a Top Ten R&B single. They recorded Start of a Romance for Atlantic in 1989 and landed another hit with "Real Love." Their most recent release was Nearer to You in 1992.
