Like if someone is giving you a hard time or cussing at you. Do you cuss back or do you mind your manners.

I was taught growing up that cussing is just wrong. Kinda stuck with me these days if I get angry with someone I give them the "stare". Or call them an old bloat (in my mind) and move on. I dislike cussing. Why do people say "F__k"....what exactly does that mean? And who was the first person to say it?

If I get angry, my go to insult is calling someone an old bloat....lol. And that is it!

I have noticed that the "c" word is not considered quite as verboten in the UK as it is here. When I used to read interviews with English rock stars in the 70s and 80s they threw that word around with reckless abandon and still do. Here it is considered among the worst. It's still one of George Carlin's famous "Seven Dirty Words" that is absolutely forbidden.

I have been known to "speak in tongues" when I am in extreme pain.

I should have clarified my last post, yes, I do cuss. I say the "S" word, crap (don't know if that counts as a cuss word) & son of a b_ a lot. I do use the "F" word from time to time but not frequently. But, cussing AT someone is what I RARELY do but have a few times.

I just offered a suggestion for improving yourself because if you cuss "all the time" it comes across as vulgar. Some people say "all the time" when they mean "frequently" or "regularly." Even I'm guilty of that from time to time.

All this discussion about cussing reminds me of an old computer program called Doctor Sbaitso. It was released in the early 1990s by Creative Labs. The purpose of it was to emulate the idea of talking one-on-one with a psychologist; you could say/ask it anything you want, but it could only understand very rudimentary keywords. However, if you typed in profanity, it would warn you not to do so, but if you persisted with the cussing, it would eventually emit a "parity error", consisting of a big long beep accompanied by random numbers that scrolled everything off the screen.

I never used the program myself, but I have seen it on Youtube. (The name Sbaitso, by the way, is an acronym for Sound Blaster Artificial Intelligent Text to Speech Operator.)

If I cuss around you it means I like you or I want to be your friend. It's a form of affection.

If I wanted to be rude to a stranger I would say "excuse me" or "you're welcome" or something like that.
