Subject: R.I.P. Pac-12 Conference, American College Football?
Written By: Indy Gent on 08/09/23 at 5:40 pm
Since this once great collegiate athletic conference is essentially dead, it is with heavy hearts that media driven greed has plundered American college football (and probably other sports teams). USC and UCLA took first blood in the spring and joined the Big 10 Conference. Later, Oregon and Washington joined in. To add insult to injury, Colorado rejoined the Big 12 and took Arizona, Arizona State and Utah with them. That leaves the former Pac 12 with 4 teams currently: Cal, Stanford, Washington State and Oregon State, the latter two schools having no chance to enter any Power 5 conferences. The Pac 4's Conference's hope they can get the more powerful lower conference schools to join their weaker group. BYU, Notre Dame, Boise State and, yes, SMU and Tulane, have been mentioned as replacement schools. So has Gonzaga, who only plays FCS Division football, but has an awesome basketball program. The Mountain West Conf. was considered to merge with the remaining schools. But only Boise, San Diego State and the Nevada schools are qualified to join.

Update: Cal and Stanford join the ACC Conference for peanuts. Now it's the Pac 2.
