And no, it’s not the Herpes Hall of Fame, of which I have heard he may be a charter member.

I had a feeling he would get elected. He was an all-around great player, both on and off the field.
The only other person who got the needed 75% of the vote to get elected was Larry Walker, a position player who played for three NL franchises.

Meanwhile, there were other notable players who got a "majority" of the vote, but fell short of the needed 75% to get in. This included two key figures in the "Steroid Era" (Bonds and Clemens), as well as pitcher Curt Schilling.
