Believe it or not, but I was actually watching cricket yesterday evening. :o

Coverage from the Champions League T20, it was. The opening match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and (South-African) Warriors.
Quite entertaining, even to a layman like me. For some reason I expected the crowd to be more like... a golf crowd. :-\\
At first, it looked like Bangalore were gonna take it. Then Warriors really got batting and took control (Ashwell Prince, 74). But in the final overs it was touch-and-go... Warriors needed two more runs from the final bowl, and they did just that.

So in the end it was:

RC Bangalore 172/8
Warriors 173/7

Warriors beat Bangalore by 3 wickets.

There's also a short third man, making Barnwell's attempt to dab a single in that direction all the more puzzling. You'd think 113 wouldn't be too hard to beat.. but scoring only 88 runs, that's very poor (even I can tell). Was it the batting that failed (in general), or was it because of the West Indies bowling/fielding? ???

Runners will no longer be allowed in international cricket after a number of changes to the playing conditions came into force on 1 October.

The use of runners for injured batsmen had been debated after some had called for runners while suffering with cramp.

A new condition clarifies when a player can be out obstructing the field.

In one-day internationals, one ball will be used from each end, rather than it being changed after 34 overs, while the rules governing powerplays change.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) board had ruled in June that changes would be implemented from 1 October.

South African batsman Vaughn van Jaarsveld has been banned from the sport for three months following an appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada), the South African Cricketers' Association said on Thursday. Van Jaarsveld tested positive for the banned stimulant sibutramine, which is on Wada's prohibited list, in November after taking weight loss medication prescribed by his doctor. Initially, he received a reprimand from the South African Institute for Drug Free Sport but Wada appealed against the decision, resulting in the ban.

England are bowled out for 220 in 46.1 overs in the fourth one-day international against India
A dire performance from England really. No batsman getting to fifty (again), not batting out their 50 overs (again) and plenty to ponder for all the batsmen. A smashing debut for the new quick Varun Aaron, who took the last three wickets, all bowled, to finish with 3-24. Three wickets for Ashwin and two for Jadeja - those two twirlers have had England in their pockets all series. See you in a bit.
