I think London has the 2012 Olympics. Usually they don't afford Olympics to 2 European cities in a row.
Would be nice to see the Olympics in any of those 4 cities, really.
I chose Tokyo just for fun.
We will find out on Oct 2nd.

Hmmmm....
Spain had it not so long ago (1992)....so I don't think Madrid will get it. I don't believe Rio has the capabilities to make it happen (could be wrong though) ...and it's not been in Sth America before. Tokyo has had it before ... but so had LA, Paris and soon London.
I think Chicago is a possibility. It will be third time in the US... Rio SHOULD be the favourite based on its location alone and the fact they haven't gone to that region before (but can they make it happen???).
I'll take a punt on Chicago...

I am glad it's in Rio. Will be nice to see. Either city, I would have been happy with.

Wonder if during the closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics, Duran Duran will sing " Rio" to lead into the next summer Olympics. Is that too cheesy?

Was Isabel celebrating yesterday? And will she be watching some of the action in 2016?

I was watching CNN today, and the perception I got when Chicago lost the bid, the world pretty much ended today in the USA. That's the perception I got...
I guess sometimes CNN over dramatizes things.

The Cariocas dance the samba on Copacabana because 2016 rings in the Olympics!
Maybe you can get the bid for 2020, Windy City!
