Eric Tindall, the oldest currently-living former Test cricketer, has, by my reckoning, just 401 days to go until he reaches a milestone no Test cricketer has ever reached — his century.

Here's hoping!
He became the oldest living Test cricketer in February 2004, on the death of Don Cleverley. He is also the oldest living All Black, and the last surviving All Black who played a Test before World War II. On 8 November 2009, he surpassed Francis MacKinnon, who played one test for England in 1879 and lived to 98 years and 324 days, as the oldest Test cricketer in history

I had completely missed this happening - as of ten days ago, Eric Tindall has now become the oldest Test cricketer on record. He still has another 396 days to go, though, before he can claim to be the first Test cricketing "centurion". He surpasses Francis MacKinnon's lifespan of 98 years and 324 days.

Interestingly, the second-eldest living player is "only" 231 days younger than him — South Africa's Norman Gordon is also 98 years old. Gordon's stats are quite interesting (I've pruned them down to the ones that intrigue me):

Innings: 6
Total runs: 8
High score: 7

Meaning that in four of his Test innings, he must have been out for a duck.

The owners of Lord's say they are not planning to sell the stadium's naming rights to finance a £400m redevelopment of the famous venue.

The redevelopment plans will in part be funded by flats around the stadium, but the MCC says it will not even look at selling rights for individual stands.

MCC chief executive Keith Bradshaw told BBC Radio 5 live: "There's no way we would rename Lord's.

"It's the home of cricket, the hallowed turf. It's not an option at all."

He added: "It's something that we wouldn't consider, and in fact I even have a real problem even considering renaming the stands within the ground that are now dedicated to famous cricketers.

162-3 TEA Morkel bounds in for what will be the last over of the session - confirmed by two successive no-balls. Strange shot from Pietersen, more a double-handed topspin smash than a cut shot, collecting three for his inventive shotmaking. But no alarms from the last ball of the session, batted out by Trott. That's tea. Brilliant session for England - 85 runs but more importantly, no wickets. Apart from KP's lbw let-off - courtesy of a no-ball from Morne Morkel - there has been little to grumble about.

That's nice from Cook - with slip, leg slip, silly point and silly midwicket in, the Essex man hits hard with the spin and lofts a sweet four down the ground. Too full from Harris again, and Cook can drive again for three more to bring up the England 100. Decent ding-dong. Light-meters being checked - nothing yet, but that moment could be approaching...

Cut away by Colly to third man to get Cook back on strike for the final ball of the over - clip off the pads, and there it is! Arthur McIntyre, the former England wicketkeeper, who played three Tests between 1950-55, has died aged 91. He made his first-class debut for Surrey in 1938 and featured in 376 matches for the county, scoring 10,893 runs at 23.22, along with 615 catches and 147 stumpings.

His international career would have been considerably longer and more productive had he not played at the same time as Godfrey Evans. Making his debut against West Indies at The Oval in August 1950, he managed just 19 runs and eight catches in his short Test span.

He was also honoured as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1958, with his contributions behind the stumps being one of the main reasons for Surrey's record run of six County Championships.

After his retirement from the first-class cricket in 1958, he made occasional appearances for the Surrey first-team, and won the Championship as coach in 1971. He retained his association for a further 20 years as coach, finally retiring in 1978, leaving an indelible impression on generations of young Surrey players.

At the time of his death, Arthur was the oldest living England cricketer - an honour that now passes to Alec Bedser.

Paul Sheldon, chief executive of Surrey County Cricket Club said, "Arthur McIntyre was a truly great man of Surrey and the Club would like to offer its condolences at this time to all his friends and family."

India will face Sri Lanka in the triangular series final in Dhaka on Wednesday after beating the Sri Lankans by eight wickets with 104 balls left.

Sri Lanka opted to bat but lost Upul Tharanga, who scored a century in their previous match, for a fourth ball duck.

Kumar Sangakkara hit nine fours in his 68 but Sri Lanka were all out for 213.

India raced to 89 by the 12th over, and Gautam Gambhir hit 10 fours in his 71, with Virat Kohli firing 71 not out as they sealed victory in the 33rd over.

They will now play a dead rubber against Bangladesh on Monday before Wednesday's finale.

England will make an official complaint over a controversial umpiring decision on the second day of the fourth Test against South Africa in Johannesburg.

Third umpire Daryl Harper allegedly failed to turn up the speaker volume when England referred a caught behind appeal against Graeme Smith.

A noise was clearly audible on replays but Harper said he could not hear it.

"It was a crucial time, Graeme was only on 15, they had 36 on the board," said England coach Andy Flower.

WICKET - Kallis c Anderson b Sidebottom (SA 217-4)
AB de Villiers is the new batsman, and this could be a very dangerous partnership: if De Villiers plays his fluid, natural game, that will allow Kallis to dig in and grind England's bowler's to dust. Great catch that from Prior, he's improved ten-fold as a wicketkeeper. Sidebottom still getting some nice shape back into the right-handed Kallis... AND KALLIS HAS GONE! Bizarre dismissal - Siders getting one to rear up just short of a length, Kallis getting himself into a right old pickle looking to hook, gloving it, and Anderson taking a splendid catch scampering in from gully.

Swann to Boucher, 1 run, tucked to midwicket, and that is Mark Boucher's 5000th Test match run. That's a fine tally for a fantastic cricketer. Second wicketkeeper to get there after Gilchrist, and he might yet overtake his tally of 5570
