Subject: May I Be The First One To Break Beckham's Legs????

Written By: Rush on 06/24/04 at 4:39 pm

D'oh!!!!

Can't Beckham score goals anymore???

Though England were outplayed in the second half they should have and had plenty of chances to win!

D'oh!!!!

I won't say anything else because it would most probably be deleted!  >:(

Well, I think the England team were weakened greatly after Rooney was sent off with injuries, but they still could have survived. But yeah, if Beckham hadn't missed that one shot at the end, they would have had it! He MUST pay!!!  >:(

What a shock :o  It's all the males in our household have talked about all morning! ::)

Hey Rush .... I think Victoria would most probably like to break a few bones in David's body ... but I don't think it has anything to do with football. ;)

Personally, I've never forgiven David Beckham for his stupid, petulant kick at the Argentinian defender that got him sent off in the
World Cup quarter final in 1998. If England had had 11 men for all of that game we would have won it.

And now....well OK, he missed the penalty, no surprise really as his form and fitness are way below his best.
I felt really sorry for Darius Vassell as I thought he played really well after coming on for Rooney.

I used to feel cursed that England would never win anything in my lifetime (I don't remember the 1966 World Cup) but that was
blown away forever by the 2003 Rugby World Cup win. I vastly prefer rugby as a sport to football anyway.

Well I was gutted. I agree with Vile about Rooney. In England's favour, after Portugal's goal in extra time, I didn't think we had a chance but England scored again!

You would think with all these losses on penalties over the years, Eriksson would have these folks doing penalty training until it is robotically ingrained in the players. I don't know what Beckham was playing at but he did show indignation at the state of the penalty spot.

I think the insult was that the last goal scored was by the Portugese goalie.  :-\\

Oh well. We'll get another chance in a couple of years time and I think Rooney will have used this Euro as valuable experience.

No Wilkinson tomorrow night.  We were going to go but big bucks for crap seats - we'll watch at home.  Should be a good game.  I prefer the rugby to soccer too.

Simply put, when will they learn?

You cannot defend a 1-0 lead for the whole match, you see it time and again, yet teams still try to do it  ::)

Much as I wanted England to win, it was almost scripted.  They simply don't have enough adventure when it comes down to it.

And as for why everyone keeps raving about Steven Gerrard, it is beyond me.  His lack of control with first touch was just woeful  ::)

It'll be interesting to see how England goes without Wonderboot. They'll have to attack instead of just giving it to him to kick. :)
