Subject: Favorite Bob Dylan Songs

Every Grain of Sand
In the time of my confession, in the hour of my deepest need
When the pool of tears beneath my feet flood every newborn seed
There’s a dyin’ voice within me reaching out somewhere
Toiling in the danger and in the morals of despair
Don’t have the inclination to look back on any mistake
Like Cain, I now behold this chain of events that I must break
In the fury of the moment I can see the Master’s hand
In every leaf that trembles, in every grain of sand
Oh, the flowers of indulgence and the weeds of yesteryear
Like criminals, they have choked the breath of conscience and good cheer
The sun beat down upon the steps of time to light the way
To ease the pain of idleness and the memory of decay
I gaze into the doorway of temptation’s angry flame
And every time I pass that way I always hear my name
Then onward in my journey I come to understand
That every hair is numbered like every grain of sand
I have gone from rags to riches in the sorrow of the night
In the violence of a summer’s dream, in the chill of a wintry light
In the bitter dance of loneliness fading into space
In the broken mirror of innocence on each forgotten face
I hear the ancient footsteps like the motion of the sea
Sometimes I turn, there’s someone there, other times it’s only me
I am hanging in the balance of the reality of man
Like every sparrow falling, like every grain of sand

I Dreamed I saw St. Augustine
I dreamed I saw St. Augustine
Alive as you or me
Tearing through these quarters
In the utmost misery
With a blanket underneath his arm
And a coat of solid gold
Searching for the very souls
Whom already have been sold
Arise, arise, he cried so loud
In a voice without restraint
Come out, ye gifted kings and queens
And hear my sad complaint
No martyr is among ye now
Whom you can call your own
So go on your way accordingly
But know you're not alone
I dreamed I saw St. Augustine
Alive with fiery breath
And I dreamed I was amongst the ones
That put him out to death
Oh, I awoke in anger
So alone and terrified
I put my fingers against the glass
And bowed my head and cried

I saw Bob Dylan and Joan Baez sing "I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine" together into one microphone during the Rolling Thunder Review tour of 1975. It was really something.

That "Dylan's Greatest Hits" album from the 60s originally came with a poster designed by famed graphic artist Milton Glazer. The image quickly became an iconic one. I still have mine.
Here's what it looks like. You will likely recognize it:

Glazer is also famous for designing the famed "I heart New York" logo. He is still going strong at age 89.

Since I discovered that he wrote the song "Make You Feel My Love" that Adele covered, I love the song even more.

I really like his Desire album. Some of my favorites from that album:
-Hurricane
-One More Cup of Coffee
-Sara
-Isis
I saw Dylan in concert back in 1989. He was AWFUL! 8-P
But, there is a rumor that Bob Dylan may be getting back together again. :D ;D ;D ;D

Hurricane always stood for me before, and as used in the (1999) film.
I heard he is coming to the UK.

I love the song when it came out in the '70s.
Don't waste your money going to see him. He is AWFUL in concert.
