I just recently heard Andrew 'Dice' Clay on audio. I think it was a show called 'The Day the laughter died'. He was awful, not because he was foul-mouthed and insulting to the audience that paid to see him but simply because he wasn't funny.

He didn't really tell jokes as such. He just ranted on about waiters, lawyers and this old man while he went to a wedding and was desperately trying to get a shock reaction from the crowd. While people were going to the toilet (on cue it seemed). Clay would basically come onto their girlfriends. At the end, I believe he started a fight with another member of the audience ending a night of embarrassment. Has anybody heard this crap and thought the same as I have or did I just miss the point of the whole thing?  ???

He had an HBO Special about 12 years ago and I thought he was hilarious.  ;D

But then he did the "Adventures of Ford Fairlane" and it was pretty lame.  I have not seen any of his "newer" stuff.

When he was first coming out, all these women's and gay groups were protesting him which, of course, made him more successful and was free publicity.  But if you listened to his early stuff, he made fun of EVERYBODY, including HIMSELF.

I think that today, he is making seven figures a year in Vegas doing shows.
