1. Runaround Sue - Dion 4, superior song from one of the best exponents of the doo-wop sound...'cept this wasn't doo-wop...but great...

2. Rock Around The Clock - Bill Haley & His Comets 5 (surprise!), hard to believe that this is fast approaching fifty years old...and also hard to believe that on the original US pressings, this was classified as a 'foxtrot'...!

6. Monday Monday - Mamas & The Papas 5, beautiful soaring harmonies...has been covered (much to my disgust), but nothing comes remotely close...

7. Don't Let It End - Styx 4, inoffensive little number...good chorus, but not their best...

9. Father Figure - George Michael 1, has this uncanny knack of making me drop off...

10. Keep The Customer Satisfied - Simon & Garfunkel 4, fine rousing number...one of their more 'overlooked' titles...

12. Heat Of The Moment - Asia 4, cool chugging piece of AOR...largely ignored over here...I've still got my 45 too, mandamoo...so that makes two of us at least...!

13. One Way Or Another - Blondie 3, a bit ho-hum...not classic Blondie fare...

17. Slow Hand - Pointer Sisters 4, deliciously mellow and very good performance...much played during 'slow spots' at discos at the time...

18. Dust In The Wind - Kansas 4, like Asia - mostly ignored here...but a very good group, this being one of their best...

19. Heart & Soul - Huey Lewis & The News 4, I remember this being played to death at the time, and amazingly it still didn't hit big...fine effort...

20. Synchronicity - Police 4, should've been bigger...good melody and compelling lyrics...

21. Faithfully - Journey 4, another ignored group! Great tune and powerful performance...

22. Sowing The Seeds Of Love - Tears For Fears 4, the Beatles' influences are obvious, but I prefer to look at it as an affectionate pastiche, not a direct copy...a bit dated now, but still a good listen...

23. True Blue - Madonna 3, Madge goes all '60's on us...ho-hum, to say the least...
