1960's - Great music in the second half of the decade. :D
1950's - Rock and roll music was beginning to take shape! :)
1990's - Rap crap and hip-hop were starting to dominate the charts, unfortunately, and good (new) music was hard to find. >:(
1970's - Best time for music, IMHO, as it was very diverse (and artists actually wrote and performed their own stuff). :D
1980's - Lots of fresh music was being played on radios. 8) If only it could have lasted. :(
1940's - Big band music was popular and that's about all I really know. :-/

1960's = 4.5 Great decade of change. Martin Luther King Jr, JFK, moon landing, darker/more realistic entertainment, etc. This is a decade I respect.
1950's = 3 True, this was the decade that brought us such memorable TV and Rock&Roll, but there was also a lot of stupid nuclear war things. Not that big on them myself.
1990's = 4 This was the decade I grew up in most of all. I thought the music was great, but the news in this decade was too awful(or too over-glamorized). But I otherwise had fun.
1970's = 4 The 70s seemed pretty cheesy, but a lot of things happened then too. Women's rights, new music(funk, disco, punk rock, heavy metal, power ballads, hip-hop, electronic, new wave) and arcade games.
1980's = 5 The 80s were just too wild. I think this is the one decade that almost all generations enjoy, even the newer ones.
1940's = 3 I respect the 1940s, because the cartoon characters weren't as tied down as they are today. Bugs was a bit wilder, and Tom & Jerry were nowhere near as commercial as most of today's characters. However, there was prejudice, and not many of the decade's songs were really all that memorable today, aside from Mairzy Doats and stuff from Disney(When I See an Elephant Fly, When You Wish Upon a Star, Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah).
