Ah! The Jones boy from down my way...! Let's see what he's been up to...
1. Absolute Beginners 4 - good song...title track from the 1986 film, which wasn't at all good...!
2. Ashes To Ashes 3 - maudlin effort...bearable...
3. Cat People (Putting Out Fire) 3 - not one of his strongest...probably more remembered for the 'very strange' film from which it came...
4. Changes 4 - sounds very basic today, but was undoubtedly different at the time...
5. China Girl 4 - co-written with old buddy Iggy Pop...good song, probably remembered more for 'that video'...
7. Golden Years 3 - a good performance, but the song's a bit sub-standard...
8. Heroes 5 - brilliantly well-written and executed song...
10. Let's Dance 4 - yet another change of image, and about the last good pile of stuff from him...
11. Loving The Alien 2 - not a favourite...meanders along in the cause of art, but doesn't really get anywhere...
12. Modern Love 4 - now, this did get somewhere...good, chunky rawk shouter...
13. Rebel Rebel 4 - unmistakable riff...ever-so-slightly on the 'camp' side (surely not?!!)
14. Sorrow 1 - never really saw the point of this...adds nothing to the superior Merseys original of '66...
15. Sound And Vision 4 - predominantly instrumental, this was a superb effort...
16. Space Oddity 5 - or, the classic use of the Stylophone in rock...! Great song, even better production (by the late Gus Dudgeon - Elt's early producer)
19. The Jean Genie 4 - more riffs! But, rather embarrassingly, was exactly the same as the Sweet's 'Blockbuster' released almost exactly the same time! No-one owned up who stole from who...!Good stomper...
And, of course, the classic album...
6. Five Years
9. Lady Stardust
17. Starman
18. Suffragette City
20. Ziggy Stardust
...all from 'Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars' LP...awesome piece of work, which is difficult to split up...but 5 for all, except 'Starman' which is a tad 'safe', so 4
Personally, I'd have liked to have seen 'The Laughing Gnome' here, but life's not that blissful...!

Yes you should ;D ;D ;D
Why not ? Simply because I copied this list from my master list of MP3's and Blue Jean was not there !
So I remedied that by the time I wrote this ! (Of course, by going out and buying a whole CD) ;D
