Subject: The YouTube Rebus Quiz
Written By: whistledog on 06/20/11 at 11:29 pm
A rebus is an allusional device that uses pictures to represent words or parts of words. In popular culture, it was the subject of the 60s game show 'Concentration' and it's 80s revival 'Classic Concentration'. Thought I'd add a twist to it and make it an ongoing quiz. Whomever gets the correct answer, then gets a turn to do one.
Here's how it works: Identify the category, then using square brackets or underscores, identify how many letters are in each word (Basically a fill in the blank). Then using 2 or 3 YouTube videos, make each one fall under the theme that would relate to the word(s). Here is an example, but without the actual YouTube videos:
TV Show: [][][][][][][][][]
Answer: Kevin Dillon was in 'Platoon'. Kevin Connolly was in 'The Beverly Hillbillies'. Jeremy Piven was in 'Very Bad Things'. All three actors were stars of the HBO series ENTOURAGE
Sounds difficult? Perhaps, so I probably should not be surprised if this fails ;D
I will start you off with one that should be a breeze ...

I was gonna asnwer Phil Collins at first. But I can see a Paul Carrack link.
That is correct. Paul Carrack appears on all those songs and is in the video for all of them as well. I wanted to use 'Oh Yeah (On the Radio)' or 'Angel Eyes' by Roxy Music in place of the Paul Young song, but I couldn't find a clip that had him in it

Blind Faith?
You are correct!
1- Baker Gurvitz Army (Ginger Baker)
2- Traffic (with Steve Winwood)
3- Yardbyrds (Eric Clapton on guitar)
All three were part of Blind Faith.

That was a total guess. I knew that Steve Winwood was in both Traffic and Blind Faith

I don't have a guess yet, but is that Roger Daltrey in the Chesney Hawkes video?
(On and only) Great song. It should have fared better in the Canadian charts, some...about 20 years ago?

I don't believe that is Roger Daltrey in the video. The One and Only was not a BIG hit in Canada, but it was still a popular radio favourite.
