On my second try (different questions!) I scored 419,362 and made it to Level 11 (of 12).
I scored a Travel IQ of 116.

Haha... hate to admit it but I didn't get enough points to continue ..... :(  My closest was Canberra, Australia (54kms)...followed by my home city Brisbane (60kms)...

Continents is one thing, getting the country right... Phew! And it doesn't get easier with each new level, I can tell from experience.

Hi, I scored 277,682 on my first try, but only made it to level 8

I scored 287,000, but did not make it past level 8. My knowledge of Africa is poor

I scored 369,196 on my first attempt, stalled at Level 10. Like Frank, it was my lack of knowledge on various West African states that really let me down.

Yes, those African countries are tough. I admit I'm struggling with those too.

And then there's the island countries like Palau or the Northern Marianes... If you're off, you're off by thousands of kms easily.

Canada is quite large.... Easy to get it wrong by hundreds of kms. I know most cities are in the southeast of the country (most cities in this quiz anyway), except for maybe one on the westcoast. And I keep getting that one wrong. ;D

There is a Pantheon in Rome. I have been there. It's pretty famous too.

I played twice today, only got 418 thousand and 419 thousand.
Level 10 only.  I need to work on my islands.

I never got that many points in level 11 yet, I think my highest was 45,000.

All those islands we have heard of, but can't remember exactly where they are in a blue ocean.
Places like Micronesia, Solomon Islands, Christmas Island, etc..

I made Level 11, but Nichevo! There's waaaaaaaay too many cities in Russia they toss in.

I can imagine, Canada is a large country. I do lose some points over Australia (not Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, I know where they are), but Canada is larger than Aus, so I probably don't lose as many pts as you.

No, but I think it is a third of the way up the Western Australian coastline...  It is approx 4,000 kms freom where I live (perhaps farther). That's the issue over here...in the time we travel across the country, we could have traveled through several European countries. So, people now choose to holiday overseas...

But then, L.A. is so different from N.Y.C., Boston from New Orleans, Philadelphia from Chicago, etc., that nobody seems to mind just visiting other cities. And if all we want to do on a trip is hit the beach, we've got Florida and Hawaii! I admit, if I were Austrailian, I would want to take a cruise around the entire country, at least to see all the big cities on the coast. That ought to take what, 2 or 3 weeks?

Not certain how far (and long) it would be.  :-\\  There are thousands of miles between our capitol cities...but I wouldn't say they are all that different (culture and accent wise).  The tourism people are always plugging the Barrier Reef, Uluru (was Ayers Rock) and Kakudu National Park ...but frankly, I'd rather travel to the U.S. and see Yosemite or The Grand Canyon. If I'm going to go to THAT much trouble to get to these out-of-the-way places...I may as well fly overseas and get a different experience. 

I just tried this game for the first time in several months and have forgotten so many places. Didn't even make it beyond level 8.  :-[
