Whoomp! There it is! :D Another new audio quiz from me. 8)
This one's all about minor hits from the 1980s. All songs in this quiz
got stuck in Dutch bubbling under section (positions #41 to #70).
Plenty of hits from UK and/or US Top 40 here...
Good luck and enjoy! :)

Did Leonard Cohen have any hits in the NL?
In Canada, it's quite bizarre. Cohen is a Legend, but he never really had big hits. Everyone who has had a hit with one of his songs has done better with it than he originally did

Okay, if #37 is not Steely Dan than it has to be Donald Fagen. I wasn't sure if Fagen did the song solo or with Steely Dan.

#12 The Ramones-Something to Believe In.
Happens to me all the time, Carol...
Well done on getting the Ramones song! :) Funny thing here...they only got two "hits" over here: this one (which got stuck in bubbling under section) and "Rock 'n' Roll High School" (which hit #8). And although they had a lot more hits in US, these two never made the charts over there (unless I'm mistaken).
Did Leonard Cohen have any hits in the NL?
In Canada, it's quite bizarre. Cohen is a Legend, but he never really had big hits. Everyone who has had a hit with one of his songs has done better with it than he originally did
Just one: "Lover, Lover, Lover" which got stuck in bubbling under section.
Okay, if #37 is not Steely Dan than it has to be Donald Fagen. I wasn't sure if Fagen did the song solo or with Steely Dan.
It was one of his solo efforts, yes. :) Which also answers ninny/Janine's question.

This particular song, "If You Can't Stand The Heat," was probably the last time I cared for Bucks Fizz. I first bought into
Bucks Fizz because Pete Sinfield, who co-wrote many songs with Greg Lake of ELP, was a co-writer of a few early Bucks fizz
songs. I guess it took this song's release to realize I didn't like them that much. :P

Three more correct answers, Graham! :)
I vaguely remember "Grange Hill "...I know it was broadcasted over here as well in the days, but I couldn't give you any names of characters and/or actors/actresses. :-\\
49. sounds like a George Michael or Wham song, although I can't think of it... :\'(
'Tis Wham!, it is... :) Half a point for you.
59. Heartlight by Kenny Loggins?
It's actually "Welcome to Heartlight", but you got it. :)
49 is Wham!'s "Where Did Your Heart Go?"
You get the other half point for this one. This seems to be one of those #1 hits (a UK #1, that is) that you never hear on the radio anymore... :-\\
It's sinful, it's tragic...
And it's #15!
Indeed it is! :)
#51 is Tanita Tikaram. I know the song, but the title escapes me :-\\
Tanita Tikaram, yes...Song title has a religious touch.
56 | Don't Want to Wait Anymore - The Tubes
58 | Perfect Kiss - New Order
Correct. 8) Odd, how Perfect Kiss never was a chart hit anywhere... :-\\
#60 Happy Birthday - Altered Images

#28 Hazel O'Connor
#29 Bucks Fizz
I'm sorry to say that #60 and #28 are incorrect... :( ...but the good news is that #29 is indeed Bucks Fizz :)

He died December 18, 2001...so it's not him either.
In fact, the singer's not even French - he's British.
You learn something new everyday.

It's time for hints. I've also removed the limit completely. :)

I think the clue gave it away there, but as for the title?

It's hard to give you any clues/hints on the title...but it involves a kind of distinct physical action that's usually accompanied/inspired by music.

Based on the hint, #60's artist would be Sinitta.

I knew #64 sounded familiar. It's 'We Came to Dance'. I was going to listen to my vinyl copy of 'The Collection' just to be sure, but I didn't have to because the UK chart positions are listed on the sleeve ;D

Absolutely correct, Andrew. :) The song title is part of an expression (although the title has a word extra) that ends in "and hope to die".

I would try and answer some more, but the quiz isn't 'loading' for me... :(
Hooray...we're up and running again!
#22. 'So This Is Romance' - Linx
#25. 'Ordinary Day' - Curiosity Killed The Cat
#40. 'I Love My Radio (Midnight Radio)' - Taffy (which was re-recorded as Deejay's radio for the British market)
#44. 'I've Got To learn To Say No' - Richard 'Dimples' Fields

#44. 'I've Got To learn To Say No' - Richard 'Dimples' Fields
That's four times a "yes", Paul. 8) I wasn't expecting an answer for #44 anymore... Don't tell me you've got that record in your collection somewhere... ::)
At first I was a bit confused about the exact title of #40, but then I found out it was re-recorded for the British market (because in those days, there were little to no radio stations in Britain that broadcasted after midnight).

I haven't, but I know a man who has!
Not a big hit anywhere, but it was played a lot on a few British 'illegal' stations in the 80s that specialised in dance music...

Strange, but true...strange because there were stations broadcasting past that hour here at that time! Not many...but there were!

I didn't know Richard 'Dimples' Fields was really known by anyone. I only know him for his minor US 1981 hit called If it Ain't One Thing, It's Another which I am listening to right now ;D

You should not be listening to Mr Fields...
...You should be brushing up your knowledge of Can Con.

Ahhhhhhh ....
#30 is 'Persona Non Grata' by Gino Vannelli. I only just came into this song a few months ago, so it's no wonder I nearly missed it LOL. I only really know (and listen to) the hits, and for the longest time, I didn't even know this song was a single until I came upon a site that said it was a Top 20 hit in South Africa

Another correct answer. ...which doesn't only mean
THIS QUIZ IS FINISHED! FINITO! DONE!
...it also means that you're the winner (just half a point ahead of Paul).
