Subject: 1980s Album Quiz (Vol. III) NOTHING LEFT

Written By: FaultyDog on 09/29/06 at 2:37 pm

It's been quite some time since Volumes I & II...but finally, here's Volume III

For those of you who don't know (or don't remember): I've listed 41 album titles from the 1980s, divided into three categories. All you have to do is give me the artist/band.

I've raised the limit to 6.

Good luck everyone!
:)

Hi Karen!  :)

You got two out of three. #16 isn't by Pete Townshend, though you're eerily close.

Not that one, but I am the proud owner of 'No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith' (their 'live' LP from 1981, which still scares the neighbours!)

All three are correct, Jason. Did you ever find a CD to replace the tape..? ???

I never did no.  I'd only ever get it on CD if it was like really cheap in a pawn shop or flea market.  I originally got the cassette just cause I knew how hard it was to get.  Plus, I wanted to expand my knowledge of Sylvian, as the only album I had prior was "Gentlemen Take Polaroids"

#3 is incorrect I'm afraid, but #30 is Ziggy Marley, yes! :)

Then for my final guess, for #3, assuming there are no other albums with this title, Fahrenheit is the excellent 1986 album by Toto.

I could be wrong (again), but I think there's only the Toto album with this title. It featured the singles "I'll be over you" and "Without your love".

Don't forget Patrick Duffy (yes, him too! :o)

But you're right, it is Audrey Landers. I think she only hit the charts in Europe. "Mi Amor" reached #30 in Dutch Top 40 in 1985. Prior to that she already scored two Top 10 hits over here ("Manuel Goodbye" reached #2, and "Playa Blanca" reached #7).

It wasn't that bad, I agree. I don't know why he (got) teamed up with Mireille Mathieu, though. :-\\ She wasn't exactly top-of-the-bill in Europe at the time. In fact, she hadn't had a Top 40 hit in the Netherlands in 10 years!

Yeah, I was looking up info on her.  Looks like she's had some success in Canada with a few A/C hits: one in 1979 called "You and I" with Paul Anka and another in 1982 called "The Waltz of Goodbye"

Both songs never made it in The Netherlands, btw. Her only Top 40 successes were: "Ensemble" (#7, 1969), "Hinter Dem Kulissen Von Paris" (#12, 1969), "Pourquoi Le Monde Est Sans Amour" (#30, 1971), "La Paloma Ad
