Thanks Maria.  You got 8 for 8, and congrats getting the Toto one.  I was almost gonna re-edit the clip, because as you could probably tell it didn't fade out properly lol but thankfully it was only that one song.  Sort of ends the quiz with a bang! LOL

Here are my guesses....

#5  Where Do Broken Hearts Go? - Whitney Houston
#8  Love Changes Everything - Climie Fisher
#21 Piano In The Dark - Brenda Russell
#24 Get Out Of My Dreams, Get Into My Car - Billy Ocean

Thank you for snatching those. :(

I do think #83 is Ottawan. I seem to recall Jason mentioning that the song didn't chart when it was originally released in 1981. ???

The song title for #37 is One More Try

For some reason I believe #53 to be Rag Doll by Aerosmith, but I could be mistaken.

The artist for #56 is Rod Stewart - can't think of the song, but it does sound familiar...

#73: Tunnel Of Love - Bruce Springsteen

And finally #81 is David Lee Roth, don't recognize the song straightaway.

(Listens again)

Well, if it is, it's certainly a departure from the version I (and possibly you) know and 'love'...

Everything correct except for #53 and #83

We did get Ottawan, but not until the late 80s.  I was going to put it in this quiz, but it was an airplay only hit, thus doesn't show up in the Singles chart so I wasn't sure if it peaked in '88 or '89.  So I included this alternate version ...

I think Jason mentioned a remix of some sort. :-\\ Wasn't it used in a commercial? Or was it a movie? I wish I could remember...

... which was a remix yes, by a group from Toronto.  It began as the theme song for Club Med advertisements on TV until popular demand made it a single in Canada, and eventually also saw release in several international markets (UK, Germany, Netherlands ...)

The forthcoming 1989 quiz should be a bit easier

I remember the video for #41 with David Lee Roth doing some spectacular rock climbing stunts in Yosemite National Park, is it called El Capitano, that amazing vertical cliff face? I'd love to visit there.

Nice song, often overshadowed by their more popular 80s hit, 'Your Wildest Dreams'.  :)
