I probably should have said 11 because here in the States we have to dial 1 first on most
calls requiring an area code. oh well, live and learn :(

Any softball games I've either watched, played in or been to have had 9 players on the field, just like baseball.

Softball teams have a short fielder, In womans softball she is usually right behind second base in mens
softball, they tend to play 4 outfielders, left, left-center, right-center and right.

Hmm, I've never heard of that.  We always played 9 positions, just like baseball.
