Subject: The Great White Way- FM
Written By: KKay on 06/19/06 at 1:07 pm
This one is either very challenging or very easy. Since it's my first quiz, I am making it a short one.
Here's the premise- I will give you a line from a song. You tell me the song title, the artist
that made the song popular, and the Broadway musical it's from. Here is a tip- none of the artists were
in the show nor on the original Broadway soundtrack. Oh, and there is no Sinatra.
And a three answer limit, one point each.
1. Especially people who care about strangers CatwomanofV 1PT Easy to Be Hard from Hair by 3 Dog Night
2. I tell you we must die. ALABAMA SONG BY THE DOORS FROM THE RISE AND FALL OF THE CITY OF MAHOGONNY
3. Sweet fragrant meadows of dawn and dew Gaylon 1PT Till There Was You from Music Man by the Beatles
4. Peace and quiet and open air wait for us Lorac 1PT Somewhere, West Side Story, Barbra
5. Might as well confess if the answers yes IV'E TOLD EVERY LITTLE STAR BY LINDA SCOTT OR MARY ELLIS FROM MUSIC IN THE AIR
6. She is smiling alone in the lamplight Gis 1PT Memory from CAts by BArbara Streisand
7. Sympathy and trust abounding Doc Brown 1PT Aquarius from Hair by 5th Dimension
8. Looking back I could have played it differentlyGis 1PT I Know Him So Well from Chess by Whitney Houston
9. the band's playin' one of your old favorite songs CatwomanofV 1 PT Hello Dolly by Louis Armstrong from Hello Dolly
10. One of these mornin's, you're gonna rise up singing Lorac 1PT Summertime by Billie Holliday from Porgy and Bess
11. Someone

Well, #2 is the Doors's "Whiskey Bar", but no clue on the play.
But #7 is The Fifth Dimension's "Age Of Aquarius" from either Hair or Godspell.
As for the others, not a clue! >:(

The artist would in fact be Jay - Z.
Dr. Evil of Austin Powers fame also recorded this song.

Your artist cannot have been in the cast of the show, but have recorded the song independently...

HINTS!!!!!
2. I tell you we must die. Judging from posts here you know the artist and you know i'ts about Alabama and you have heard the song...just find the musical...this is the hardest one. It's closely related to the show song 11 comes from. They were both originally in German.
4. Peace and quiet and open air wait for us The artist was already used once in this quiz. The song is from a musical based on Romeo and Juiliet.
5. Might as well confess if the answers yes Very few people know that this comes from a musical. It's a bubblegum hit, very very cute, very Doris Day.

I'm wondering how many people here remember Promises, Promises. My mother worked in Theatre and I remember seeing that show (along with many others) from the booth. ;D
