Subject: Twas the night before Christmas...(LIMIT REMOVED - HINTS ADDED)
Written By: FaultyDog on 12/24/05 at 9:07 am
...and all was quiet on inthe00s. It had failed to snow yet again... Now what better to do than post another quiz? One with a Christmas theme of course (although some of you may be sick & tired of the stuff... :-\\).
Most of these songs have been performed by a great many artists, so basically any artist will do. Other songs do require the appropriate artist's name (you'll find out what I mean).
Limit = 5 correct answers.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!
01. Little one, little son - all my life I've wished you welcome
December child - Cyndi Lauper (loki 13)
02. And I'll come back to this same corner where we met
Not an artist of a great many hits, but he scored in 1994 (duet with Mariah Carey)
03. A man under cover but you tore me apart
Last Christmas - Wham! (alyceclover)
04. A silent wish sails the seven seas
When a child is born - Johnny Mathis (and many others to follow) (tomario)
05. So jump in bed and cover your head
Here comes Santa Claus (whitewolf)
06. Dreams of Santa, dreams of snow
Mistletoe and wine - Cliff Richard (whistledog)
07. The ox and lamb kept time
The little drummer boy - David Bowie & Bing Crosby (and many others) (Paul)
08. from the bottom of my heart
Feliz Navidad - Jos

Hi Henk...compliments of the season to yourself...
#7. 'Little Drummer Boy' - Originally by the Harry Simeone Chorale, but probably better known (with 'Peace On Earth') as sung by Bing Crosby & David Bowie as part of Bing's last seasonal TV offering...it was originally a Czechoslovakian carol...
#9. 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' - the immortal Brenda Lee, updated by Mel (Smith) & Kim (Wilde) some years later...
#10. 'Wonderful Christmastime' - Wings (Bleh!)
#20. 'Little Saint Nick' - Beach Boys
#36. 'White Christmas' - Bing Crosby (naturally!)
And to everyone else here...have a great holiday! Happy Christmas!

gee, guess if I think about it will remember the actual names of these songs.....did we have to list artists because some songs are represented more than once with different lyrics?
8) and, ho ho ho ho ho to you too

#5 and #8 are incorrect, I'm afraid... (I can see why you got confused about #8, but I'm looking for a Christmas song here).

No, that's not the reason. For some songs there is only one artist/band IMO (though the song may have been performed by others), like #3 or #36. Some songs are Christmas carols (so there's no original artist) and the remainder has been covered a kazillion times (so you can pick any of those artists).

You might want to add this title to the "Song Titles With More Than Five Words" thread in the Penguin Board Games section.
